Ok...it begins with a joke about HIndu scriptures A lawyer was asked what is the difference between Ramayana and Mahabharata? His reply was , one is a kidnapping case, and the other is land dispute. Extension of the same joke to other professions An engineer was asked what is the difference between Ramayana and Mahabharata? In Ramayana people did not know how to travel in air, whereas in Mahabharata they'd learned how to do that and return to earth ..since Arjuna went to Indralok and returned. (Poor Right bros..). A medical professional was asked the difference He said well in Ramayana there was infertility issue so Sita did not conceive that long, and in Mahabharata they did not have any pregnancy prevention systems so Gandhari had 100 kids. An accountant was asked... Give me a break...my every minute is invaluable and you want me to analyze the difference between some stories. Ha ha. Well...not meant to offend anybody...just telling you nobody really knows what they are talking about and yet they all feel so strongly about the religion.

I am tempted to tell you a joke about Catholic monks, but you would have to study first the difference between Catholic religious orders to understand it. I have heard of Ramayana and Mahabharata but never read them...

@LadyDuck Alright. A Benedictine monk, a Dominican, a Franciscan and a Jesuit are chatting in a room. Suddenly, a power cut happens. The Franciscan kneels and asks for "Light" to the Lord ; The Benedictine says his rosary, convinced that God will save him ; The Dominican starts a speech about the Lightness and the Darkness of this world. The light comes back. The Jesuit is not in the room, he went out to change the fuses.

There are many differences between the two epics. What really stuns me is that some people assert India already was much advanced in space travel and surgery in those old times!

Actually, they have discovered lots of under water cities and there are interesting things in Indus Valley civilization which used gravity to pump water across the city. I believe there were some catastrophes which have sunk previous generations ..generations that managed to build things like Stonehenge. We never know when we have to eat our words so it is best not to say we are or were the best.

Very interesting observations. All seem to have different perceptions as per their own professions/fields.

LOL I get your point. I like the first interpretation the best - the kidnapping vs. land dispute. Although I had to reach into the far recesses of my brain to remember what Ramayana and Mahabharata were. Wikipedia helped a little too. ;)

Opinions are like belly buttons, everyone has one. Unless it gets surgically removed in a tummy tuck operation.

The accountant..yes..evil grin...something has to be precious for him..lol. I am surprised the medical guy did not ask ..how was it feasible to have 100 kids...she couldn't have had quadruplets continuously....

Sorry, but I know nothing about Ramayana and Mahabharata, even if I can understand the sense of the humor.

Yeah...actually I am amazed how Hindus unite as one even if they do not know much of their scriptures and can't answer any questions about them. All they want is to unite against another religion. Same is true for most religions.

@LadyDuck .. Each has their perspective which may differ substantially from how the religion needs to be defined if it can be actually, based on whatever is going on in their lives. Why then do they fight ..

Aw...that is not religious at all...it is showing that people don't really know their religion, view it from their perspectives, and yet gang up to fight with others...SMH...that is what I meant to convey anyway..not really good with it..
