A real "bentwood" rocker

I would love to have this room for a living room. It was mostly enclosed by glass. In it were some "wildlife" themed comfy furniture and this rocking chair made of real bent wood probably saplings. Oh, and hubby was in it. This was a nature observatory room at the Great Plains Wildlife Center that we went to on Saturday.. Outside was a bird feeding station, some jumbled rocks and a fairly shallow body of water. From inside the air conditioned room you could see anything that came nearby. We watched a variety of birds come to dine. The ducks liked to be beneath the bird feeders to get the food that dropped to the ground. The bentwood chair was comfortable, the view was incredible. It was a room where you could sit with your family and enjoy nature

It would be wonderful to live like that. I would love to visit there some day just to check it all out.

It is free, lovely and calming. I imagine many states have similar things.

@velvet53 Me too. We kind of forced ourselves into going to get that pass, then felt we should explore while at this center.

Inside this building are exhibits, showing life cycles and about how trees help the environment and about the water cycle, etc. Even a large tank with live fish for an entire wall. All Kansas natives of course. I always assume most states have similar facilities, but I could be wrong.

It was. The weather outside was hot and muggy, but we could enjoy this nice room plus some great exhibits.

The facility does not sell refreshments, but I imagine we could have brought a cup of coffee with us if we chose.
