Customer Service, how important is it to you?

Whenever I buy something online or offline, I'm very particular with the customer service (especially with returns, refunds, how well and fast the items are delivered, and the how the seller responds). I have been disappointed with two sellers from Instagram already because they don't give you the tracking number of your order, they respond late and sometimes don't respond at all, and worse, sometimes they forget to mail your order and would just lie that the messenger failed to pick up the items due to bad weather! These online stores aren't getting any orders from me anymore no matter how much I like their products. That's how important customer service is for me. How about you?

Customer service is important. I would hate to reach out to them over and over and get no response.

Me too. When i like a particular store, I become a loyal and frequent buyer. So I'm very particular with the customer service.

@infatuatedbby I've thought about that as well. But if too many people are buying from you, that means business is flourishing, thus you're earning more. The more you earn, the more your customers deserve proper care. So you should add people to cater to them or else you'll be losing even your loyal ones.

@toniganzon Yes absolutely ! I wonder if the owners of those stores are overwhelmed with orders they cannot reply to all? If thats the case they need to hire more people. Or at least get back to you within 24 hours.

I only buy from reputable sites like eBay, amazon and others and I only pay by paypal. If the item doesn't come I am refunded by Paypal or the company so I never lose anything by buying online

There were a lot of scammers on eBay before.

@Freelanzer That's good because your country allows that payment. I've been a PayPal user since 2007 but none of the online shops here then allow payment through that. Recently there are new shops allowing that but with an additional service fee. I have never been scammed at all. I have been buying from eBay since 2004 but I make sure that the seller allows payment through their bank account. In that case they can't scam us at all. In this country, that's the only way to do it safely.

@toniganzon I think there are scammers everywhere so we always have to be cautious. My point is that even when someone tries to scam me on a site I get my money refunded by paypal so I ever lose anything

If an agency does not care for his customers, there is no using buying items from such agency. You have done the right thing to not to buy items from such agencies. I buy only from tried and tested agencies.

@toniganzon Yes, you are very right that they are not experienced sellers and they do not know how to take care of their customers so as to maintain a customer base.

@dpk262006 Right but I think customer service is common sense, but I guess it's not very common at all.

They're not inexperienced sellers as they have existed for awhile. But I guess because of their popularity they neglect the importance of customer service.

Customer service is also important to me. If they give good customer service before and/or after sales, I would have the confidence to buy with them again. If they're like the IG sellers you described, then I probably won't buy from there anymore.

@toniganzon That's true, but once they experience bad customer service, they would realize that paying cheap does have consequences.

@moonchild117 Well that shop is still gaining popularity. I guess they just don't care because the price is cheap.

I think most people from our country care more about the price rather than the customer service. Customer service includes services before and after sales.

I really can't stand poor customer service, but people here can especially when the times being sold are cheap.

@toniganzon If I pay for something, no matter the price, I expect a good customer service. I have stopped going to several stores due to the attitude of their employees.

I don't buy things online since I bought my drawing table 3 years ago. I had to wait for it for almost a month. Can you imagine my frustration and anxiety? I think I swore a thousand times!

Same here. Just so sad that they have great products but customer service sucks. That's one thing that some people still don't care much about here. I studied marketing back in college and we were taught the importance of customer service.

@hillhjill So true. There are customers that are hard to deal with, but that doesn't mean we have to be rude to them. There's a right way to deal with those kind of people who can be very unreasonable sometimes. But me, as a customer, has never been unreasonable nor rude at all.

i want to be updated when something promised is going to be delayed, not silence. some will even make you feel like you're making a mountain out of a molehill, that it's not a big deal or the end of the world. no explanations, no apology.

It's because they have no idea what customer service is and how it should be done. Back when I was a student, it was emphasized in our university. We were the only university that was using an American authored book about marketing. I have friends from other universities studying the same course but they were using philippine authored books and unfortunately, customer service was never mentioned at all! That really surprised me!

i had made some calls on customer service agents of a network, and i think they heard what i meant. sometimes we have to be stern.
