A Gaillardia in our garden

There must have been a stray seed in that lot of seeds that my friend had given me. I saw this plant but did not know what it was until this flower emerged. This Gaillardia has a single row of petals but normally they come in several layers. Yet another addition and I hope to preserve the seeds.
