Accident is just around the corner

It was a fine Monday morning. It was a holiday so i was feeling good. Around lunch time i received a phone call from a friend. My heart sank as I heard the bad news. She said her son, only 14-year old (he actually just turned 15 today, Aug. 22), met an accident. He was on a bike, about to cross the street, his father waiting for him on the other side of the road. And there it was, a white SUV overtaking on the right side. (Cars in our place are left-hand drive, by the way.) Sadly, he got hit on the head. We ended the day spending at the ICU of the hospital. Then I came to realize how uncertain life is.

Yes, he survived. His doctors however are still not so sure about to what extent the damage brought to his brain.

@hereandthere exactly. that is what we always tell him. that is what accidents are, if only we knew when they happen, we would have prevented them to happen.

He is still in the ICU. The doctors are saying he is already out of danger. But we still have to find out how much damage the accident brought to his brain. There is always a possibility of him having amnesia, or his movements might be jeoopardized. But there is also a possibility that the new "alignment" the accident have brought to his brain might make him a genius. We hope for the latter to happen, if not being his normal self.

@DeborahDiane thank you Deborah. I hope the "twist" in his brain will make him a genius. If that is ever possible, as his doctor said.

@JustBhem yeah, thanks to God. I hope the development continues and he will be out of the ICU, if not the hospital soon.

His original 50-50 state is now lowered to 90-10, 90 being able to live. So that is better. We hope he will be out of the ICU and get back home though.

he is better now, thanks. but sadly, his attitude somehow changed. Like he doesn't curse then, and weirdly, he now does.

I feel sorry for the teen, he didn't deserve that. I hope the driver goes to jail, I can't believe what he just did. Come of think of it, I won't be buying a bike anymore.

yeah, he does not deserve it at all. He is a careful biker, by the way, but the driver, is not. and so i hope that would not discourage you from buying a bike, it is a great exercise tool and hobby.

@just4him question, you may or may not answer though. do you believe in fate? i mean, the people around are saying that it was the young boy's fate to be bumped by the car.

yeah, like it was very rare for men to show their emotion, much less cry in public. and the father just can not control his emotions. well, we sure understand why and it is just sad to see this family be in such a challenging situation.
