Ischia, Italy was the scene of an earthquake very recently. This is the moment a 7 month old baby was pulled from the rubble. Everyone cheered for it is a joyous rescue, when it could have been very sad instead. It really is amazing that the baby survived and kudos to those kind rescuers. It really shows some hope in very bad situations. Did you hear of this earthquake?
A seven month old baby boy was pulled alive from the rubble, Tuesday, after his family's home was destroyed in the earthquake that struck Ischia. The boy's t...

Yes I have heard, all the Italian newspaper talk about this small earthquake pointing their fingers to the abusive buildings that collapsed. In no other country buildings collapse for such a non destructive quake. Even the two brothers of the baby have been saved yesterday, the 11 years old kid has pushed under the bed his younger brother and they were both saved.

@TiarasOceanView Those who build the houses in this part of Italy should ALL be in jail. It's already clear that the houses were built with poor materials to make more money.

I just saw the link...may be that child is meant to do a lot of good to mankind...almost all gods have had some kind of disaster accompanying their birth. "Massacre of herod" and in our history Lord Krishna had several attempts on his life.

Of course, I heard of this earthquake and my mother also told me this story. These disasters are very tragic (unfortunately most of the damage could have been avoided, if the buildings were antiseismic, but some prefer saving money at the expenses of other citizens), but I like when people join together and work on rescuing and rebuilding. The elder brother, 11 years old, was awesome: he did a great job motivating and helping his brothers, including the 7 months old. The whole family was safe, that's indeed fantastic.

@TiarasOceanView No, it's pretty distant, thankfully. It is an island in the south, close to Naples. I live in the north.

I remember seeing footage of the earthquake's aftermath and the rescue efforts. I'm glad that there were some positive stories shared to alleviate the heaviness of the number of lives lost.

Amazing things do happen. There were some amazing stories of survival in the Frank Slide in Alberta in 1903. Some of them were babies too.
Lillian Clarke, 15, worked late at the hotel in Frank on April 28, so her employer offered her a room for the night. It was the first time the young girl remained away from home overnight.
