YOUR RESPONSE.

Are you easily influenced by the thoughts of others or do you express your own thinking most of the time? like on a Mylot discussion , would you rather follow the trend of the other responses or say what you truly want to say? I usually make my response as soon as I have read the discussion - then if time permits , I may peruse the other responses. The only time I would check other responses first is if I do not fully grasp what the writer is talking about. Then again , if there is a specific question that you plan to ask - it is best to check the responses first to be sure it hasn't already been answered - thereby saving the writer having to repeat the same answer over and over again. So - do you read responses first - or later?

I usually read responses first, unless there's like over 20 or 30 of them. And yes, my own response can be affected by previous responses. I also read the other responses in case I can comment on those too. I get a little influenced; if I have almost nothing to say, I read the responses, and I become inspired to say more. At first I thought "do you always say all you think here?". Of course I don't! But it doesn't always depend on responses.

@Kandae11 After all, they're public responses, not messages meant to be sent privately to the original author. So it's our right and maybe duty to read, like or comment them.

@sabtraversa Comments on responses sometimes lead to a long string of other comments - which , I think, can be beneficial for the writer of that discussion.

I am never influenced here. I use my own thoughts. But in the real world others get influenced by my thoughts. I have stopped giving suggestions as I want them to think for themselves.

I always read the post, and comment in my own thoughts. I never read the responses before I comment. That way there is no way to be influenced.

I rarely read responses. I don't want my answer to be influenced by what others have already said. If the topic is of great interest to me, then I will go through and read the responses after I've made mine.

Well for me..I usually participates in the discussion that got my attention and how they made their points clear..I respond base on my knowledge, experiences and especially to my understandings. I only reads others responds because somehow, I imagine discussions as mingling with many friends and it is not a one on one chat

@Kandae11 If there are repeated answers, that writer makes more for the discussion. No, I don't read what has already been said, because my answer is contingent upon my own personal opinion and not influenced by how the other members are responding. Just because two people don't view something the same way, doesn't mean that one is right and the other one is obviously wrong! Opinions are just that, a person's view-point on a certain issue.
