It was so boring

As we know from all the eccentric hype and loads of pictures yesterday, the solar eclipse happened. A wonderful phenomena of the universe, something we only experience a few times in our lives. A solar eclipse happens about every 18 months. The next eclipse in the USA won't be until 2024. In my group chat, a person asks if anyone watched the eclipse happen. Someone answers, "I did!" Which seems like they are excited, but followed their reply with, "It was soooo boring." I...I...WHAT?! You call a natural beauty, something that actually does insane things to our earth, boring? I get it, the hype for it, was a bit much, but it was so cool! For 20 minutes, in complete darkness, everyone was silent and appreciated the universe and that we get to live and experience it together! What were you expecting? The moon to do a jig while it wears a top hat and a cane as it goes by? I don't understand some people. I get it, if you were not excited about it. That is okay, some things just do not interest people. But, to call it boring? That is just...idiotic. An episode can be boring, the lecture your mom is telling you for the 30th time can be boring, doing nothing can be boring. Watching a solar eclipse, is not boring, it is beautiful.

Its not idiotic to call it boring, as not everywhere went dark and all that so to some, it was boring and not what was expected. It was nothing important for me to see, so i didn't. But it wasnt dark here either so i know i didnt miss anything anyways

@DesirousDreamer well, it was to a lot of people, myself included. but doesn't change how it was for you, and others so shouldn't be a problem

@Courtlynn I'm just saying...word choice would be a better option, instead of sounding so lazy with the fact that...it was the universe doing things.

It was a natural beauty of the mysteries of space. We couldn't see anything here but 20% of it, but doesn't make it freaking "boring" Like I said, it was okay to not care about it, but to call it boring is an insult to the entire universe. You can say it was uneventful or you didn't care. But it wasn't freaking boring.

It's not boring. I'm excited for it. I haven't experience a total solar eclipse in my life only partial eclipse. Hope someday

People lost the sense of beauty. The eclipse is slow and yeah, no moon jigging, but it is still a rare event worth paying attention. I get excited when looking at Venus (morning star) and see how it moves in the sky (very slowly), I would have freaked out at watching the eclipse in person.

Oh my goodness, I just love space, so being able to have a glimpse of saturn, seeing Venus every night. It is amazing!

I agree, how can an eclipse be boring ? Hell, just even being able to be a part of history is awesome, something to talk about besides Trump, politics, and every other issue clogging the news lately is awesome. Watching your backyard dim and get eerie looking is way cool.

I know right! It gave a brief moment in time that politics, fighting, leaks, whatever did not matter. It was beautiful.
