Neo-Nazis are "very fine people" ~ Trump

During the imposition of martial law (1972-1986) by former Philippine strongman/dictator Marcos with the tacit approval of the US government (United States military bases located in the Philippines were being use for the Vietnam war), one very prominent critic of Marcos was ambushed but somehow survive. I still recall his words to a military officer who was at the hospital emergency when they brought him in. "What's happening to our country, General?" he asked. Many Americans are probably asking a similar question. I watched US president Trump give that impromptu speech about those "very fine people" in Charlottesville and days later was very much surprise to learn that surveys conducted found a majority of his supporters agree with him. How does one interpret the result of those surveys? Can any person not to mention a president justify the tragic event with a dismissive "Both sides are to blame"? I just read that the "Charlottesville incident" is "fake news" and right-wing media are claiming the driver of the car that killed Heather Heyer was a Hillary Clinton supporter. The Charlottesville killer, James Fields, was in fact a Hillary Clinton supporter and member of Antifa, funded by billionaire George Soros.

@josie_ The majority of his most rabid supporters would agree with him if he committed murder. Thankfully those supporters have become a small minority of Americans at this point.

@tallawah _Bigotry and prejudice exist in many forms. Racial discrimination is part of social class divisiveness. People tend to bond with their own social, political, economic and educational backgrounds or status.

@Letranknight2015 _ Hitler's minister of propaganda Joseph Goebbels said that "If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it." In the US media's war of "fake news" the only victim is the truth.

Personally anymore, I do not believe anything I might hear on certain stations like Fox news, etc. Too much crazy stuff is being said anymore about everyone, and it makes you wonder.

@KrauseHome _Only 6 major corporations own 90% of the US media. We have to accept that they all slant the news to fit their own interests and bias. It remains for the reading/ viewing public to use critical thinking and common sense to separate the "chaff from the wheat" where truth is concern.

First President Trump condemned all Hate Groups. Including the KKK, and white supremacists.... The protest, and march in charlottesville was to protest the removal of the Robert e. lee statue........And YES their are people not affiliated with these groups that do not want the statues removed....That is why the fine people commit.... The both sides commit was made because both sides were fighting..Antifa, and Black lives matter are just as much Hate groups as the kkk, and the white supremacists are...when you put hate against hate that is what you get....... Why would it be hard to believe that the killer was a hillary supporter.....It was the Democratic party that started the kkk in the first place..... If you watch what antifa and BLM are doing across America right now...They are trying to shut down free speech, They are haters of the police....And in my opinion they are trying to start a civil war...

How do you get "Keep the statues" out of "Blood and Soil" and "Jews Will Not Replace Us" along with the even more hateful chants by these thugs? These "fine people" just held a "White Lives Matter" rally, I suppose you're going to defend them and say it's all about the statues too...

@dlr297 The removal of the monuments has been nothing but a smokescreen from the beginning. But, if it will make you feel better, let's discuss the monuments for a moment. Do you think these Confederates were heroes to be celebrated? Are you okay with honoring people who committed treason against the US and who fought for the right to continue to own slaves...to buy and sell, beat and rape FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS? Or do you think African-Americans should be considered 3/5 of a human being? Let's face it, those who DO think those things ARE white supremacists even if they're to hypocritical to own up to it and call themselves what they are. If they were marching alongside them, carrying the same signs and flags and chanting the same hateful things they're supporting them. No matter what you think about the BLM movement you have to acknowledge that they have their reasons for existing in the first place that no white person has. All lives matter, I absolutely agree, but I've never been afraid that I'd be shot for the color of my skin and I never had to warn my child or my grandchildren that police officers, while most are great, honorable men and women, aren't always their friend.

@anniepa They have been rallying against the removal of the statues since the beginning...The permit was taken out to protest the removal of the statues.... Nobody said that white supremacists are fine people....Just like antifa and BLM are not fine people.....But as President Trump stated their were fine people on both sides their protesting..... Just because people other than white supremacists are protesting the removal of statues..Does not mean that they support the white supremacists.... White lives do matter...Just like Black lives matter....Just like all lives matter..........
