Really happy to see the same nice people again here! As i mentioned in my September post, i went from Moscow to Vienna to participate in a 10-month social project (European Voluntary Service) at the kindergarden of one university there. In July, i returned to Moscow. My work was to act as an educator's assistant 30 hours a week. As i was supposed to be a volunteer, i got no money except 115 euro per month together with absence of paying for a nice single room on the surroundings of Vienna, transportation within the city and food costs 5 days a week. In addition to it, free language courses were provided and the costs for visa and my train tickets were reimbursed. So, i have acquired the greatest life experience while being involved in all the activities with kids, meeting other volunteers and people from different countries throughout the world, taking my personal challenges and achieving my personal goals. That is interesting...kindergarten...what were you teaching them, Russian rhymes? What rhymes do you all have in your schools? English ones I mean...

I taught them origami and some facts about Russia. In our schools students sometimes learn English poems during their English lessons

@vandana7 Austria is a German speaking country. So children learn German rhymes and songs in kindergarten.

@MALUSE .. You mean to say that they do not have their own language? Blink...that is interesting. I thought Germans conquered Austria so that is why many knew German like we Indians know a little bit of English. Interesting fact. :)

I was surprised that you didn't post anything during your stay in Vienna. Obviously, I missed your posts! No idea how this could happen. I'm glad to hear that the experience was positive. Have you gained weight with all the wonderful Kuchen, Torten and Strudel Austria has to offer? :-)

@TypicalRussian You're lucky then. All in all, it seems that your stay in Austria was a success. Was has impressed you most? What has influenced and changed you - positively or negatively?

Well, i overestimated my plans to post during staying there ;) There are 2 types of people - those who eat a hamburger and gain 2 kilos and those who eat meat, porridge, eggs, chicken and stay slim. I am the second type, so i tried strudel, sacher, wurstchen, kaiserschmarrn almost without gaining weight.

Hello stranger! Sounds like you had a fabulous experience. I so wish I had done something similar when I was younger. Is it strange having to adjust back to life back home? Are you planning your next adventure yet??
