i think they should be just a severe if not more becasue an animal can not defend it self. i also think that if you are accused and found guilty of amimal crulety then your name should go in a national FREE to the public data base. That way they don't end up with another animal.

yeah i think that would be great, i watch these cases with people abusing and neglecting their pets, i want to just kill those people, those animals cannot defend themselves, its not fair and those people should be punished more severly then they normally are

honestly i think they should be more severe..animals have NO way to defend themselves ..at least a human has somewhat of a chance to ..a newborn puppy or kitten..or a dog abandoned when you leave him chained up and move? just makes me so mad sometimes..to see what people are doing out in the world to animals..

It should be even more severe than what humans get for theur petty crimes. I feel humans comitting crimes on other humans is such a commonality that severe punishments have no effect on people anymore. But man has gone from his killing for FOOD to killing for fun, afterall, Foxhunting is the pursuit of the uneatable by the unthinkable!
If such people don't want a pet, why do they keep it and subject it to agony. All such people must be paid back in the same coin. They should be belted around, tethered to a tight leash........
Good day to you, bye.

Yes, I think the animal cruelty laws should be just as severe as the ones for humans. My pets are my family and I consider them to be just as important as any other family member.

Yes, I do feel they should be severely punished for abusing their pets/animals. I just don't see how anyone could ever hurt an animal. They are such wonderful creatures and deserve to be treated in the best possible manner.

Yes, and maybe the question should be "should child cruelty laws be as stiff as animal cruelty laws?" because it was against the law to beat a dog before it was against the law to beat a child.

I think that if a human hurts an animal, it should be treated as if it were a human, the same laws. Animals have feelings too, and nobody to protect them from these sick mean people.

I think that both animal cruelty laws and animal cruelty laws need to be more severe in some parts of the world.
Close to where I live a horrible story just made the news about a man that abused his dog.
Here's the link if anyone wants to read about it:

It just gives me a horrible sinking feeling in my stomach. Anyone who abuses an animal is a sick sick person.

I think they should. It's a living, breathing creature that feels pain as well.
