My nephew who is at the age of just five years. He love to watch cartoons. He not only watches cartoons on different T.V channels but on internet, he sits of hours to watch his favorite cartoons. Should the children watch cartoons for long hours?

At the age of five, no child should sit for hours and watch TV. Obviously, the parents are too lazy or not interested in occupying themselves with the boy. Poor boy!

You are right. The parents should forbid and restrict him to watch cartoons for long hours.

No! Allow them to watch but limit their time. Too much is not good.

@studylove It should be in a maximum of 2 hours in my own point of view. If you let them watch TV or surf the net, make sure you are with them so that they will be guided. If parents are not around, they may visit prohibited sites or whatever.. Kids these days are very tech savvy they know things we dont.

@studylove In this case, moderation must exist.

@TheInvisibleMan I agree with you that a child should be let only to watch cartoons for a specific and limited time only.

I don't worry about a child watching cartoons because it fuels the imagination and some cartoons are actually educational. However I would worry about a child that does not want to do anything but watch cartoons then something needs to be done.

There must be a limit. Children should be active playing not inactive just sitting and watching
