Grandson in Arizona

I had a call from my grandson who lives in Arizona today. He's a busy young man as a single parent, author and college student. He's also a disabled veteran. His little boy started kindergarten and loves it. He says to his dad every evening, I don't want to go to school , but when morning comes, he's excited to go to, "big boy school". I'm happy to know that my grandson is getting on with his life after his disability and service in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has several books that are best sellers in England and are taking off in the US. He's also opening his own publishing company. I'm so proud I have to crow a little.

That's great news! Just over one month from now and I will be in Arizona for a few days, in Tucson, visiting my daughter.

My grandson lives in Tucson. He originally went out there to find better health care and go to the university. Have fun with your daughter.

@RubyHawk Then I will be near your grandson! It looks like there are some interesting vegetarian restaurants in Tucson.

@sallypup I'm not sure. I've never been there. My grandson likes it. He's just signed another lease on his apartment.

@RubyHawk - I'm so glad they are doing so well. It can take a while for soldiers to get back to normal after being in a war.

I am so happy for them. My grandson had a hard time getting medical help and getting his life sorted out since he came home from Afghanistan. I'm proud to see him getting back on his feet.

You should be proud of him. He has taken a giant step to keep going forward and making a good life for him and son. I wish him the best, actually I should say that I wish father and son the best.

He is a remarkable young man. He served a tour in Iraq and two tours in Afghanistan as crew chief on the Bllack Hawk and came home disabled from the jarring movement of the helicopter. He's had a rough time as many of our young men and women in the military. I'm pleased to see him getting his life together.
