I had a call from my grandson who lives in Arizona today. He's a busy young man as a single parent, author and college student. He's also a disabled veteran. His little boy started kindergarten and loves it. He says to his dad every evening, I don't want to go to school , but when morning comes, he's excited to go to, "big boy school".
I'm happy to know that my grandson is getting on with his life after his disability and service in Iraq and Afghanistan. He has several books that are best sellers in England and are taking off in the US. He's also opening his own publishing company. I'm so proud I have to crow a little.

@RubyHawk - You have every right to be proud of your son and grandson. They are doing well and every parent should be happy about that!

@RubyHawk - I'm so glad they are doing so well. It can take a while for soldiers to get back to normal after being in a war.

Sounds like you have a lot to crow about when it comes to your grandson. He seems like a remarkable young man

He is a remarkable young man. He served a tour in Iraq and two tours in Afghanistan as crew chief on the Bllack Hawk and came home disabled from the jarring movement of the helicopter. He's had a rough time as many of our young men and women in the military. I'm pleased to see him getting his life together.
