August 29, 2017 3:22am CST
A friend just called me this morning to ask a funny question. She said, she logged in to her Facebook to check her updates and saw a friend's request from her Boss. She said she is confused about accepting the friend request. What do you think. Will you accept a friend request from your Boss?

I don't think there's any wrong in accepting friend request from your boss.

Yes,this is the whole idea.people have been fired for posting their thoughts on their social media accts. So one has to be careful with a boss request.

Well it depends if the boss has a cool personality why not but need to think twice as you cannot cheat on leaves or vacation. You can also accept but give some restrictions as to what the boss can see on you social activities...but if I were to choose between yes or no hmmm no ??

@augusta123 I agree there is a small space for friendship but a huge space for boss-subordinate relationship, though my boss right now is my close friend but when it comes to work it's a different story ??

Hmmm. I think I will accept a friend request from a boss. Who am I to say no to my boss? Besides, I can't see anything wrong about it.

@augusta123 I don't think so, because I knew I am responsible enough with my postings on my social media accounts.

I have some of my bosses on my Facebook account. I don't really mind since I am pretty close with my present and my previous ones. In case I need to rant, I just make sure to edit the list of people who can see it so that they don't have to read it.

I won't accept it, If I accidentally said something against my boss then I would have gotten fired.
29 Aug 17
yes, that's the pointer,so what would you give as a reason for not accepting?

For me, no need to accept it.

So what would be your reason for that.

I will accept a friend request from my boss because I have nothing on my timeline to hide. I know that a social media account literally acts as your second CV so you can imagine how your friend was feeling. People are always different around their bosses and who they are on social media.

wouldn't you feel bad about him or her monitoring your activities?

@augusta123 I would feel a little insecure I guess but I might choose to be inactive if the feeling persists. It won't be fair not to accept his/ her friend request. The boss might feel rejected.
