Home from my first day of work

Well today went just the way I expected it to. Boring meetings and lots of free time to fill. I spent most of it getting paperwork done. You wouldn't believe the stupid crap that I have to write up each year. I swear it goes into a black hole and no one ever looks at it but it is oh-so-important for me to get it filled out and submitted by a certain date each year. The 2nd year teacher who shares a room with me spent a lot of her time decorating the door to the classroom. I told her to go for it. My enthusiasm for that kind of stuff left me like 13 years ago. I guess I'm ready for the 1st day. We shall see!

Thank you. Last year was a great year for me so I'm hoping this year goes the same way.

Ah, school. Teachers have a hard job and I think it is about time to show some respect to them. I always felt that teachers were under valued and unappreciated. Honestly, I wish I were the president of this country. I would make many changes for the better and the positive. I am glad I am not a child anymore. I never really liked school. Maybe because I didn't have real good teachers. I went to catholic school and had nuns teaching. They were not nice people. Always nasty for some reason or another. I did have some nice teachers in high school. So I know there are caring teachers out there.

@NJChicaa I know what you mean. But not all teachers are good people. I know that from when I went to school. But overall, teachers are amazing people and should be respected. And they need to make more money.

I'm sorry to hear that it was boring. Sometimes, it definitely can be. Hopefully your first day of teaching goes well though.

oh I'm sure it will. I've been doing it long enough that I don't get stressed about it any longer. I've been doing it longer than my students have been alive.
