A Breath of Fresh Air

United States

What a delightful way to start this day with nice cooler temperatures and fresh air. I have my sliding doors open and the windows upstairs just to get the house aired out. It just feels stagnant after being closed up all summer with the air conditioning on. This welcome change in temperatures has given me the urge to start my Fall cleaning. Slowly but surely I've been working on my closet in my bedroom but it's a slow go. I can't believe how how much I've shoved in there so it's a long process going through it all to see what's a keeper and what's to toss. I still have boxes that have never been unpacked from when I moved here 7 years ago. Can't imagine what's in them since I haven't needed anything for all this time. The big project I want to tackle is my kitchen. My cabinets and drawers all need to be reorganized and things have found their way onto the counter tops that don't need to be there. I want to wash the kitchen window (inside and out) and also get a new valance to hang since I'm tired of the old one. My window is fairly small so it doesn't need a full set of curtains and the valance works well. I just hope all this energy results in actually getting stuff done rather than just thinking about it. Anyway. life is good here so what's new with you?

Forgot to mention that what's new in my life right now are: 3 brand new bathroom sinks and faucets.

Energy for me goes as fast as it comes lately. I remember the good old days when I could clean the house in one day

Well, if that can help you doing the work, you could post about it as much as you would like. This kind of posts I enjoy reading. I have to do some work too here and maybe we can help each other by posting.

I'm enjoying the fresh air breeze coming in our open windows as well. It really brings your house back to life doesn't it? I was up and out early today to get our groceries. I have to work in a little while, so will be leaving shortly.

@Marilynda1225 It was fairly busy at work today, but we had a few lulls of quiet during the day as well. In the morning we're going to have to the airport to pick up our son and his wife from their honeymoon. Then we'll have to rush to get me home so that I can get ready to go back into work. And then of course I'll enjoy Monday off-whew, I'll need it!

Ours too here in Tulsa. Light rain started the day and temps in the 60's are welcomed. Our Summer was mild compared to years past.

@JohnRoberts Hmm well...I had to think about it for a minute; I miss California when the roads are iced over or I am trying to get through the snow on an incline in my re-wheel drive vehicle! I also miss the beach, but not the 405 Fwy

Our windows and patio doors have been open for over a week now. It certainly has been great sleeping weather. I hate to do it, but I just may have to buy some fall clothes. Seems such a waste. Hope you tackle some of your chores, bit by bit.

I haven't even gotten to the clothes yet. One of the boxes I opened today is filled with momentous from when my kids were young. Definitely stuff I'll keep

I also hope that energy of yours is put to good use. I have a lot of thinking at times which results in not doing. Oh well, eventually I get those things done. Lovely cool weather and sunshine here too.

I do seem to spend more time thinking of what I want to do than the actual doing part. My energy fizzles quickly these days

I also have boxes I haven't unpacked since we moved here. Must be a load of junk since I haven't looked at it in many many years. Good luck on your cleaning.

@Marilynda1225 Your cleaning has inspired me, to tackle a few boxes in our garage. We moved here five years ago and none of that junk has been missed! lol

Doesn't it make you wonder what's in those boxes and why it was packed in the first place? My stuff has been sitting here for 7 yrs and I guess I must have needed to bring it when I moved but who knows now.
