Gas Gougers

In the wake of Hurricane Harvey, it appears that 'some' gas stations in Dallas feel it necessary to gouge patrons by charging.....are you ready for this.....$5.99 to $8.02 per gallon (5.04 to 6.76 euros) (3.89 to 6.19 pounds). Absolutely unacceptable to those not even affected by the hurricane itself. Fortunately, and I love this part; Texas is about to come down on these gougers by fining them up to $250,000. (210800.59 in euros and 193028.96 in pounds). That ought to teach them.

Heard every state here, in New England, was going up for gas due to it being brought from texas or something. But no idea. Dont pay attention to all that.

@Courtlynn It sucks when you think about it. You're hundreds of miles away from Texas and yet you can get screwed too.

Everyone should be fined for gauging whether it be gas, water, etc. Shameful that there are those who take advantage in situations like this

Hard to believe that they would do that but they are doing it. Even here, gas prices went up right away. It doesn't make any sense.

@nanette64 In general, this is a selfish and greedy world. Today, I was told, that the richest 1% of the people in the world have more than the other 99% combined.

@1hopefulman Yup, that's very true. I'd be happy if I had just a little extra instead of trying to figure out how to make it month to month.

They are lucky it is by the gallon. We pay that price, but it is by the liter. So that would be worse if they charged by the liter.
