Today we are going to a Filipino Party! As you may or might not know my wife is Filipino. She has been in the United States for nearly 2 years now and we have attended a few of these parties. Mostly it will be Filipina wives and American Husbands. I find these parties fun and you can learn from their culture. The party is always loaded with Filipino dishes! Some of the dishes I have had, others will be my first time trying them. I really enjoy most Filipino food, some not so much. There is always a lot of laughter, smiles and of course singing. Filipinos are known for being loud and loving to sing. They usually play some kind of Filipino game together which brings even more laughter and smiles. There will be little cute Fil-Am kids running around for sure. They are always the cutest! I can't wait for our little bundle of joy comes in December! Oh yeah, and the American Husbands will be sitting around wandering what the wives are talking about because of course they will be speaking tagalog, bisaya, Cebuano or some other dialect from the islands. I only know about 20 words =) Do you enjoy learning about other cultures?

Just reading at your post, I can already imagine how the party will be like. Filipino parties are always loud. There is no dull moments and laughter is everywhere. Games will always make the party high. And the different tongues spoken will add to the liveliness. I do know of other tongue aside from tagalog. Learning cultures of others is a good experience. Your horizon becomes broad and you seem to open a new view of the world.

@rodabod I want to try that too. I know a bit about swimming. I guess I can manage to do it together with whale sharks.

I'm very glad to hear that you appreciate our culture and some of our foods, there's a lot to learn but I guess it wont be that difficult especially with your pretty Filipina wife around. I hope you guys have a nice fun bonding time with the other couples and families, that " lechon " ( roast pig) looks real tempting. Oh yes congratz in advance for your coming little bundle of joy

It is really good to interact with other cultures as it can make us learn and understand why they are the way they are.
