How much spending money do you give yourself?

After a couple months of trips, vacations, longer weekends, birthdays, trips to the casino a few times - I am trying to once again be "frugal" and try to pay down some debt that Ive been sitting on for too long. Its hard when I feel somewhat addicted to shopping, even though I mainly shop at thrift stores - I still spend a lot on clothes, random foostuffs and other unnecessary things I just dont need!
So I am trying a new thing - to give myself a spending limit, a concrere one. I may even take the cash out so I know exactly what I have left.
Do you do this? And whats a reasonable amount of spending money for one week? What do you give yourself?

Well I just cant overspend at all, so I allow myself around $20 per month for things like ice cream lol Like I did today bought some awesome organic ice cream, a real treat!
Good luck Maezee..I know it is tough. I have debt to pay off.

Ive been paying off debt and a trip next month. So i give very little to spend. Ive paid down $8,000 debt off ina year. So once i get my trip paid down then i'll throw a lot of it into savings.

No spending limit unless we only have a certain amount to spend in general.

@maezee not really. We just pay our rent, have gas for my mom to get to work and back, and make sure we have food then use what we have for whst we want plus other bills.

I don't follow a strict allotment. What I spend depends on needs.

It is advisable to plan your expenses, so as manage your life and comfort. It good to shop but it wise to shop according to your pocket
