Myths and Lengends you were ever told

September 4, 2017 6:41am CST
I can remember those days, some 10-12 years ago when I go visiting my granny, she used to tell me a lot of things that even as a child I found some funny and some scary. she will say if your teeth falls off you need to throw it over the roof,so that it will grow back or else the teeth wouldn't grow,or don't allow somebody go over you while lying down or else you remain short.Another one was the use of mirror, she said you don't have to use any mirror outside the home or else you start seeing ghosts or some creeping things.Funny enough I used to believe her. But now I know better and find them very funny. what are those myths you grew up with ,thinking there were facts?

Don't walk under a ladder or spill salt on the floor. Don't remember what it meant. I still avoid walking uder a ladder but for safety reasons.

Never open an umbrella in the house - I can't remember why they said we shouldn't.

You shouldn't do that in Italy, either. In Germany, nobody cares, though.

When we were kids and if we happened to lose any milk teeth, we used to be told that we should wrap the teeth in cotton and keep it on the roof and it will be taken by a crow. Sounds quite funny now.

There are many, one of those stories is the man with peeled leg, she told me that if you go outside in noon time, the man with peeled leg would kidnap and kill me , so the purpose of telling me this story has become very clear for me now

@augusta123 ok , there is something related with teeth, when a male child extract his tooth he look at the sun and throw his tooth towards the sun saying "oh sun take the tooth of donkey and give me the tooth of lion", for female child she says " oh sun take the tooth of the giraffe and give me the tooth of the deer"
