Worst Roommate Ever

Because @snowy22315 is looking for a new roommate it brought back memories. Back when I was young I knew this guy and this girl and I sort of hooked them up, they got married and had a baby. I was already married and I had just moved into this very nice duplex apartment just one block from downtown Oxford, Alabama. When they needed a place to live I rented out the spare bedroom, they had a bed and a baby bed but these were nice big rooms so there was more than enough room left to get around in the room. All of us worked except the girl, she was home with the baby so she agreed to clean the house. Well after a couple weeks I noticed something, the guy was not taking a bath. And they got to where they were not buying their part of the groceries. So I asked my ex to tell him to bathe and I would talk to her about the grocery deal. Well, he took a bath and left the filth for me to clean up. Around a month of them being there I began to "smell" their room as I passed the closed door. One day when everyone was gone but me I could not help myself and I opened that door. I just stood and stared from the hall, I was frozen in that spot! The bed sheets were so nasty I did not know what color they were but the baby bed was what set me on fire! She had not changed that poor little babies bed sheets and there was pee rings all over it. Underneath the baby bed was filthy diapers! All the way up nearly touching the bottom of the baby bed. And the dirty clothes piled up a wall?! When she came home I told her I needed to inspect the room, that I smell something and I have to find it. She took me to her room and it felt worst than standing in the hall. I am sure the look on my face was enough and then I told her they had to move on the first because if the landlord inspected I would get kicked out. I also told her to change that babies bed sheets and I shamed her for treating her baby like that. I took her into my room and showed her how we lived and that I expect her room to be exactly like mine before 10 pm, when I got off work. She did clean that room and washed all the clothes but that was the filthiest woman I had ever met! I never had another roommate ever! Do you have a story?

No, I never had one and judging by your story I think that I was very lucky not to have one.

That sounds like a really bad roommate to have! My former roommate never wanted to do dishes they would sit around forever. That was pretty annoying..nor did he shower often enough...but he was nothing like what you are describing!

Yes on the first they moved to her mothers house. But they were never that friendly again, but that is okay, maybe she learned something from me. I hope. And that is to clean up her beds.

E I have had to clean up after some tenants who left the place quite a mess. Nothing that smelled quite that bad. But garbage and junk left behind. And things destroyed. I don't get it.

OH tenants are worst than this one. I have had one to actually clean the house and asked for his deposit that he only paid half of AND he owed me rent! No I did not give it to him and wrote him a letter explaining why he did not get the deposit, he texted me threats, I saved them just in case he did do something. The other always leave a truck load to go to the dump.

Oh I knew a person like this and it didn't last long for me. I had to work in SF for 3 weeks and the company set me and my daughter up with one of the people that worked where I was working. The first night in that home was my lst. I have never seen such a dirty place in my life and I was so afraid to let my daughter sleep there. It is hard to even tell you how nasty this place was and how dirt was piled up everywhere. It would of taken a normal person 6 months to clean this mess up. I had to leave after one night. i made them give me another place to live for the remainder of the time I was there.

I've always had great roommates. Always had a great time with them. On the other hand, I've lived with more girlfriends than roommates.

Oh My! I would have reacted like you did. I had room mates when I was in college but it was not as bad as your room mates.
