History has repeatedly shown that the U.S. Congress and the President are terrified of the thought of citizens getting together and make our voices heard! That is why they constantly try to divide us. We need come together and DEMAND that Citizen's United be overturned. We need to get big money out of our elections. Candidates don't need the obscene amounts of money that they collect! We need to ensure that Net Neutrality is the law of the land allowing equal Internet access for everyone. Candidates can use the social media sites on the Internet and share their views for free! Every candidate has instant access to international attention with just one citizen recording them speaking and uploading it for all to see. Give candidates a limit of the amount of money collected and only allow those funds be used for small staffs, supplies and travel expenses. Citizen volunteers can get together and do the work in their respective communities. In this way, the opportunity to run for an elected office is not just available to the wealthy, but to everyone.

In our country the opportunity to run is only available for those with deep pockets. They have to buy "boats" through which candidate positions can be obtained. If one has already bought a boat, then the next step is to get as many supporters as he/she can in order to win the position.

@yanzalong. @petatonicsca @jstory07 Getting citizens to get together can change the established rules in almost every country. Even in those deeply repressed countries, brave citizens are being their plight to internet for all to see. Change will only begin when a few people take the courage to rally their fellow citizens to realize that we, the average citizens, deserve and then demand change! Two hundred and thirty years ago, the colonists in the new world decided that they didn't want to be ruled by a King half a world away. They came together and wrote The Declaration of Independence. Never before had those thoughts been put to pen and paper. They fought and became the great experiment: The United States of America. I'm not saying that the U.S.A is perfect, far from it. Our founders had the wisdom to create a system that is forever evolving. We don't need to get our rifles out, we have the power of commerce. When we see a major corporation doing wrong we can let them know that we won't stand for it and will stop buying their products. We have the power of the written word, we can almost move mountains. Americans have used this pressure to get CEO's to remove themselves from councils and advisory boards aiding and advising the Trump administration. In the current system, a President, Senator or Representative of the House loses power without corporate backing. Hundreds of thousands of Americans are fighting to overturn "Citizen United", a ruling allowing corporations, billionaires and special interests to put obscene amounts of money into the electorial process thus corrupting it. As citizens, regardless of where we live, can rally together for change!

We need ethical leaders, and that is unlikely to happen with a whole lot of rich people in office. Some are probably ok, though.

The wealthy are the ones who have the money to run for any office.

@Jstory07 @m_audrey6788 @petatonicsca ~If we demanded a change and limited the amount that candidates could spend and collect, then more people could run for office. With all of the free exposure on the internet, candidates don't need to spend money on TV commericals. Personally, I record all of my shows with my DVR and watch them later, fast forwarding through the commericals. I don't know anyone who like those political commericals anyway. By the way, @Jstory07, that's a beautiful kitty.

@flpoolbum ..Well, I think the main objective is getting you reminded of them, So you can talk about it and might get a lot of attention. Then election comes and the names in your mind are those people commonly talked around the place
