My best friend is leaving...

Our next door neighbors were an older couple. The wife had a grown daughter who lived in Massachusetts and would come to visit every so often. One day we discovered that the daughter and I had lived in the same neighborhood in Virginia and used to play together when we were little girls! All these years and several states later, we became best friends again. She's here for a visit and going back to Massachusetts tomorrow, and I miss her already. Isn't it strange that her mom and I ended up as next door neighbors in another state? I hope she'll be back soon, maybe to stay since her parents are gone now and she owns the house that they left her. I know we'll be best friends...we're a lot alike.

You just never know! When I met my current husband we had several conversations about my former husband's family - turned out at my current husband's first marriage - they had a band and the band was my first husband's uncles. Small world.

Wow! What are the chances of that happening? Very strange indeed. I hope that she does come back. It seems like a friendship that was just meant to be.

That's so cool. I miss the days when we would just make friends with the neighborhood kids. Nowadays, people don't trust each other.

Strange things happen for a reason. (: Maybe you two are meant to be best friends! I hope the friendship works out because it is always very good to have someone you can trust and talk to about anything. :)
