In the yeas L have lived L saw my
own mom go from boiling clothes clean
over a stove to washing 'clothes in a
modern washer and using a dryer too, .
I was little when I saw 'her wringing out
sheets by had and I helped her to
hang them up on he clothes lines. We
iived on a farm.I loved the fresh odor of
line dried sheets when I was little.
I hear people moaning about technology
and wonder if they would love to wash
'clothes by hand Or use an ice box instead
of a modern refrigerator
Perhaps they would love to go put put in
a model T ford lol.You would have time to'
see all of nature of course you m, might
walk faster than the Model t lol.

My own mother never had a dryer. And I gave away my dryer to one of my daughters some time ago. But I never boiled clothes. I imagine that these plastic materials would shrink if boiled.

@Hatley The first shirts my husband had were 100% cotton. I hated to iron them. And I had to iron the sheets too. Not anymore

I helped my grandmother do the wash out on the back step many times. She had a ringer washer. She used bluing on grampa's white shirts and such. All the clothes were put on the clothes line to dry.
