We're trying to fix our friendship

This girl and I were best friends for almost 10 years, this past year though our friendship has been really rocky and at one point we weren't friends recently we decided to try to fix our friendship because we were so close for so long.
So tomorrow for the first time in almost a year we're hanging out just us for my birthday before she goes on vacation and I'm kind of excited.
For so long we were so close like sisters and always were together and though we might not be as close it's nice to still be friends and do things to try to improve our friendship and get close again and it's nice that even after not being friends so long she would want to hang out before my birthday. So I'm looking forward to tomorrow and hope it's fun.

Sometimes because of our busy schedules we tend to forget to communicate with some of our friends especially if we don't see each other often. My best friend and I experienced that kind of waning in our friendship for sometime when we both got married and had kids on our own. But I guess we both understood each other because we were both starting out with our own family but then what is important is when you finally get to see and talk to each other it seems like you were just talking yesterday and you simply made a connection immediately. She is like a sister to me already. I hope that somehow the same thing would happen to you and your best friend because a friendship that long is worth a try. Happy reunion! :-)

That's great that you decided to fix it despite the difficulties you had. I hope you'll be able to go through with it because after all, real friendships are really hard to come by.

Happy Birthday. This just reminds of the present rocky relationship between my friend and I, we have been so close for years but lately we seem to be drifting apart and the sad part is that we aren't trying to fix it.
This has just inspired me. I'm going to call her tomorrow, who knows we might get back to being the crazy friends we used to be.
