Why do Fridays give us that feeling of excitement most of the time?

September 8, 2017 1:48am CST
Unless it is Friday the 13th, or for some reason we dread for the upcoming weekend, Fridays usually give us or me in particular that sense of excitement. Probably because it signifies that weekend is about to start and we may have a list of activities that we want to do that cannot be made possible on a regular Monday – Friday because of work or school schedules. For my son, Fridays make him excited for the weekend because weekends usually mean he could stay late up at night watching tv or he could play all day with his gadget or with his friends, or he does not have to wake up early in the morning for school, or it means going somewhere for a ride or to the mall for some entertainment activities. As for me, Fridays make me excited because it means I could do other things that weren’t possible during the work week. These would include, weekend walking with my husband early in the morning reaching neighboring places while talking about many things, I get to talk longer with my mom and dad without the pressure of time, I get to visit and water our flowers and plants in our garden enjoying the sun while watching the flowers dance to the soft kiss of the breeze or to the tickle of the raindrops when it fall, we spend more time with our son by playing and talking with him, going to church on a Sunday, meeting with friends, or simply just being lazy and feel the calm feeling without the pressure of work or school. Though there are times when things just get tough that even our normal weekend routine become busy, Fridays remind us that there is a time to pause for a moment, enjoy life, be grateful to God for the things that have happened and will happen, be appreciative of the small things that may not be always noticed during a busy work week, and to relax in order to gather more energy for the upcoming week. How about you?

Several times and for many years now, whenever someone post something like this, my answer has always been the same. I don't look forward to Fridays and I dread it. Weekends are the busiest for me. I look forward to Mondays.

It is ok. We all have different schedules but what is important is we get to pause and relax a bit anytime within the week to appreciate what life has to offer. :-) thanks for the comment.

It sounds like you really enjoy your weekends! For me, the weekends are almost always working weekends--the only time they are not is during the summer--and that is now sadly coming to an end--

@Purpleflower05 Thank you! You too!

There are also times when weekends are also working weekends but it is not so often though.. What is important is you can spend some time enjoying the simple things in life no matter what day of the week it is. Enjoy the rest of your summer and onwards! :-)

Why dread Friday 13th? This is superstitious nonsense. Please space your text to make it more readable. Not only members with glasses will be grateful.

@Purpleflower05 Looks much better now, doesn't it?

It is because some are still wary when the 13th falls on a Friday although we should always be careful any day of the week. As to the text, yes I will definitely follow your advice. Thanks for the tip! :-)
