Watching the Hurricane

We're keeping an eye on Hurricane Irma as she gets ready to hit Florida. Looks like she'll head straight into Atlanta. Governor Deal has announced today that the National Guards is on standby. And help will come in from other states if necessary. It's expected that we'll have high winds and heavy rain. Irma should have lost some of her power Before she arrives in Atlanta.
I haven't heard anything about evacuation in our area. Fallen trees and power outages are expected. Highway I 75 has been crowded the last couple of days with people fleeing Irma from Florida. Everyone is being told to take secondary roads if they must get out. We expect to be okay but we're watching the news.

I pray we will all be safe. We're not in an evacuation zone here so until they say it's mandatory we are staying here.
The beaches and areas prone to flooding have madatory evacuations here.

@andriaperry Yes we're in Jacksonville.
We aren't near any water and we are in concrete apartments. Until we get a mandatory evacuation we're staying.

I'm not as worried as I was to begin with . I think the Hurricane will lose much of its force by the time it gets to Atlanta. I'm sure we'll have trees down and power outage but we can live with that. I hope everyone in Florida will be safe.

it will weaken considerably before it gets here. The only thing we have to worry about is heavy rain and wind. Some tornadoes will be in the area, so we here, We're likely to lose power for awhile. but people have been called in help.

We are getting updates on this storm, also. It's definitely headed towards Atlanta, at this time. On land, it will get slowed down, for sure.
