Watching the Hurricane

We're keeping an eye on Hurricane Irma as she gets ready to hit Florida. Looks like she'll head straight into Atlanta. Governor Deal has announced today that the National Guards is on standby. And help will come in from other states if necessary. It's expected that we'll have high winds and heavy rain. Irma should have lost some of her power Before she arrives in Atlanta. I haven't heard anything about evacuation in our area. Fallen trees and power outages are expected. Highway I 75 has been crowded the last couple of days with people fleeing Irma from Florida. Everyone is being told to take secondary roads if they must get out. We expect to be okay but we're watching the news.

I pray we will all be safe. We're not in an evacuation zone here so until they say it's mandatory we are staying here. The beaches and areas prone to flooding have madatory evacuations here.

@andriaperry Yes we're in Jacksonville. We aren't near any water and we are in concrete apartments. Until we get a mandatory evacuation we're staying.

Thank you. I think we'll be all right. Rain and heavy wind with power outages is likely what we'll have. Irma should lose strength before hitting Atlanta.

@RubyHawk The last I looked, it's going to miss Georgia completely as it goes up the western side of Florida now.

It's swerving more to the west but we're still told to expect wind and rain with power outages. we will be all right. We'll know more as time goes on. Maybe it will swerve completely away from Atlanta. @just4him

This must be quite frightening. I hope you'll be okay. Even the secondary roads must get very crowded I would think.

I'm not as worried as I was to begin with . I think the Hurricane will lose much of its force by the time it gets to Atlanta. I'm sure we'll have trees down and power outage but we can live with that. I hope everyone in Florida will be safe.

There are evacuations here in Miami and the storm is expected to make landfall not far from where I'm residing. Prayerfully all will go well. Prayers are going up!

I have a friend who has a business in Florida and in the Caribbean. He left yesterday with his family to wait it out on a safe Caribbean island.

it will weaken considerably before it gets here. The only thing we have to worry about is heavy rain and wind. Some tornadoes will be in the area, so we here, We're likely to lose power for awhile. but people have been called in help.

Let us hope everything is okay this time, though it won't come at peace as expected for the hurricane was so bad, it damaged properties and devastated some lives. What a terrible hurricane.
