Another week of school is done

My job is ok, it pays well, sometimes I get hurt (got bit pretty bad, but we are working with that kid to replace that horrible behavior with more ok ones. We suspect she gets away with things at home). It just isn't what I thought I would be doing. And I am bored, a lot. I've gotten to where I ponder a story I am reading, or something I might write, or the LARP I am in, in my head. I am an assistant in one of those LARPs now. I was doing the work of it, and finally just got promoted to official. This means I get paid in experience I can spend on any of my characters I play to help them pay for skills and things faster (more intelligence, more resources, allies, etc.). It takes up probably too much of my time, but I don't mind, it is our main hobby after all, second only to cuddling and watching TV together. The games we play in are 'cross genre' this means we have more than one race allowed. Each race type (vampire, werewolf, mage, etc) is usually their own game. I rather like this format, because it allows for all kinds of crazy things, and well, most of us don't have time to play multiple games (so you have less ppl in a game because 1 wants to play mage, while the next prefers vampire). I had an idea while I slept for the game I am assistant in. I want to find a way to cause minor nuisances. That many groups working together, there SHOULD be more tension between the racial types, and there isn't. I wanna start picking at that, but I am not entirely sure yet how to do so. Not game related life is going well. Money isn't as bad as I am now starting to see full checks!

Your talk about LARPS is all double Dutch to me but I'm pleased you're enjoying it. Pity about being bored but think of the money!

@JudyEv it's a common ice cream flavor here, along with rocky road and cookies and cream.

@hereandthere Have you had a double dutch ice-cream? Can you describe the taste at all?

We have a biter this year as well, but it is not really a behavior that we can quench. He is developmentally a lot like an infant or two year old and he bites anything that gets close to his face. I have bruises to prove it and I work with him only about an hour daily but that involves changing diaper and picking him up to lay down for a "rest" and I just get too close occasionally. I sit in a room with him for part of his rest time and use that time for hand work or reading a little.

@Jessicalynnt He does not really "taste", it quite literally is just his tiny little teeth. I just have to pay attention to where my arms go when I am getting ready to lift him. There are other behaviors in other kids that cause me much more anxiety. The hour I spend with this child is one of the best in the day. He is kindergarten and it is so nice to see him happier and learning to function and interact, which does not describe how he was in preschool.

There are a few ways, but it will take time. I would start using sanitizer on hands and arms when near his face, so you always taste awful

I've heard and read about LARP. Not my cup of tea presently but it is something that I would want to further know about. How about secretly starting beef between other racial types and stoking the flames to ignite more tension among them?

oh that is totally a thing! the vampires hate most other races (most vampires, mine doesnt care actually, she sees other races as tools), and the mages tend to stick their noses in everything

Glad to hear school is not going bad for you. This child that bites does she have some sort of disability? I hope the behaviors change and get better with this child.

so far she has tried again, but we've all been fast enough to get missed, and we have changed how we keep her confined when she isn't being safe

Are you talking about some kind of role playing game? I have been out of the myLot loop, sounds like you are working with kids? Kids who bite, lol. I hope you can get her to stop, that's horrible.

yeah a LARP is live action role play, IE you dont sit at a table with miniatures or anything. We aren't a combat group though, so no fake weapons and stuff.

I do, most days, but I also get bored. I'm trying to find ways to be more helpful and do more, so that I am less bored
