How is everyone today? I hope everyone evacuated that were advised to do so. My sister has a second home on Cloudland Mountain that is sheltering evacuees tonight. All the inns and hotels are taken and people are asked to take people in if they can, I'm seeing on TV crowds in Florida waiting for a way to get out. Cars are crowding all the roads.Rain is already falling. I hope all will be well.

@TiarasOceanView All the hotels and motels are taken for miles around here. R Vs from Fla. were parked in Walmart parking lot this morning.

The weather is nice in the Lake Charles area with a cool breeze coming from the north and modest sunshine.

@RubyHawk I know what you mean. I went through Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and it was not fun.

It was a nice sunny day in Georgia. It's hard to believe a hurricane is on it's way.

I can't believe all the people covering the storm right there on the beach. We get it, now get out of there!

That's what I think. The reporter looks like he's almost being blown away.

Hotels and motels in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area are full. I imagine most along I75 in any state are full.

Wow! Taking people into their homes. That is very charitable.

The Hurricane Irma seems to be very horrible and therefore people try to escape from it or stay indoor to hope they will be safe. I heard that the whole Florida may lose the power at that time because of the hurricane. If so, it will be worse. I hope it will not cause more damages.

Every one should watch out specially those who are going to get hit by this storm. Good thing we had this tree cut already.

Many waited hoping not to be obliged to evacuate, I can understand, who likes to leave their homes. It's a terrible situation.

I'm glad your sister is able to help. I saw a bit of it this morning on the weather channel. The outer bands were already hitting, and it's only going to get worse.

Odd that these hurricanes happen. I wonder if it has anything to do with the eclipse happening a month or so ago.

I just checked the news and many people din't evacuate as they were urged to do. It doesn't look good. I also hope it ends well but the storm is a bad one.

This seems like a very late time, for those to be looking for a safe place:( Why didn't they get out a couple days ago?
