I'm praying as hard as I can

I just wish that would do some good.
Included as a photo is a screen shot of the forcast by the National Hurricane Center around 2pm.
Irma is now a category 3 but look what's following her, Jose is trying to catch up with her and that's really scary.
Please evacuate if you're anywhere near these deadly storms. I can't afford to lose any of you, you're all so important to me.

Don't ever think your prayers have no effect. They may or may not stop or slow down the storm, but they might save someone from drowning, or help someone to shelter, or keep someone's house from being destroyed. It's a bad situation and we can pray, thank heavens.

Irma seems to have lost some of her punch, now if only she would totally fizzle.
It's time to pray that Jose does NOT touch land.

@rebelann Yes it is. It is going to take a long time for things to get back to normal. People from Harvey are still dealing with it as is the people in Mexico who had the earth quake and also hit by the one hurricane. There is a lot to be done. I am sending out as many clothes and things that I can. It isn't much but every little bit helps.

We had some loved ones that stayed, but thankfully they are fine.

I think most of the islands Irma hit were successfully evacuated beforehand but I'm not sure. The news only covers that which is thrilling but never lingers long enough to let us know how things went after the thrill.

@rebelann - I am praying, too. I have heard that Jose could also turn around and make landfall somewhere on the East Coast. That is horrible!

You are so kind.
From what I understand the worst damage was when Harvey hit southeast Texas and of course Irma devastated those tiny islands before she hit Florida and the damage there was bad as well.
So many natural disasters lately in many places, it must be one of those years. Hopefully 2018 will be better

You too.
I am 700 miles away from the disaster area, here it is a desert and rain doesn't come often.

I do hope everyone on mylot is safe and will join your prayers. I just checked the wind where I am in the UK but I think that we are only going to 39 miles per hour which is nothing really. They do say it will go to 75 mph on the coast. Again compared to most places that really doesn't seem very much. I get nervous though because of the 1990 winds when we did suffer damage and 39 people were killed. On that day I was terrified because my daughter had gone on a school trip to a castle and trees were literally blowing down across the road. We didn't have mobile phones or anything like that to keep in touch so we just had to wait at the school and hope and Pray.

Thats sounds horrific. High winds cause more trouble than people realize.
Without the Web I doubt so many people would have known about the hurricanes unless you lived close by. I can remember how it was before I had a mobile phone.

Yes, and watching the Texas seaside trying to repair the devastation of Harvey.

It was and still is a big mess isn't it? I hope you missed the heavy rains that hit Texas. Did you feel any of it? Wind? We finally heard from our relatives in Florida and they had no damage or flooding, happily...

El Paso is too far away for a hurricane to do much to it, the mountains between southeast TX and southwest TX would prevent the storm from getting this far.
