Journaling On A Rainy Day

Every time I find myself cooped up at home on a rainy day, I get that yearning to open my notebook and write down thoughts and ideas. I have always been like this since I started journaling at age 8. There's something about the rain that seems to set up the mood. I feel at peace. I feel comforted by the roof over my head and the warmth of my clothes. And when I start to lay down the tip of my pen on the paper, it just glides and words churn out. There's a storm out there, but there is calm within me. Thank God, we're all safe and well and home.

Yes, writing during the rain helps calm me too! I love the suggestion below about adding art to your journal. Unfortunately, I cannot draw, but the thought of adding pictures to your thoughts and feels seem very powerful.

You can put your small pictures and other mementos in your journal pages. It's called scrap journaling and i love it because I'm able to keep a few memorable things like tickets, receipts etc

I love journaling as well but mine include art journaling and I just don't write events of the day or what I feel. I do more than that. I embellish my journals and planners. I have a collection of them piled up in my room.

@almostoveryou I have hobonichi techo weeks, hobonichi techo original, and that one in the photo is a hobonichi techo avec in A5. Now I'm preordering the 2018 hobonichi and I need to do that soon coz the cover I want might be sold out soon. I also have Filofax, kikki.k, Midori traveler's journal, and airecreates artdori. It's the first time I met someone here who recognized my hobonichi since I've made a few posts about my planners and my addiction.

@toniganzon I personally know Airees and meet with her from time to time. :-) I have her artdori too. Where do you buy your Hobonichi? (Apologies for the super late reply. I've been so busy.)

I am so glad to finally meet someone here who does art journaling, too! I see you use Hobonichi. Is that the techo? I've been meaning to get one, but I'm not sure yet which type of Hobo to get. I'm eyeing the weekly because it might be able to fit into my traveler's notebook. :)

That sounds so cozy. I like to do that too when the craving is apparent.

I love writing when it is raining out. It is so calming. I am not much for journaling, but I do write some scripts and such and it is very relaxing.

It's wonderful, isn't it? Whether you're pounding on the keyboard or letting your pen glide on paper, there really is that calming effect brought about by the rain.
