Dinner At Angie`s

Burritos. I made burritos for for dinner for the first time ever. For the longest time I would just buy them because they are not that expensive. But for some reason Tony asked me to make them at home so I did and I made mine vegetarian using morning star steak strips and his with real steak. I do admit that I can just about cook anything when I try, that is why I do have one cookbook about ready to publish. What was for dinner at your house?

Growing up in Southern California, we ate a lot of Mexican-influenced foods. I remember a lot of enchiladas and tacos in my early years. @SonjaRae was in the time of the burrito, because Mom made them up ahead of time and froze them. I didn't realize that you were working on a cookbook!

@SonjaRae I remember both. They were good. Not real authentic, but comfort food. What I REALLY liked was her "Spanish rice"...and loved it in the stuffed bell peppers, and I loved her meat loaf, and her beef stroganoff. Do you have her recipe for the latter? Would you send it to me, if you do?

I went to the same place. I like Taco Bell. They are all over the place but I agree with another post, homemade are the best but I can never seem to fold them correctly.

Homemade burritos and tacos are the best! On burritos you can put in them whatever you want to which is so great it's like getting a sandwich wrap instead of on bread.

@andriaperry I am not too keen on some of their pasta dishes, but the rest, seem simple & fast to make. (Not the ravioli though! I have never tried that one.)

@andriaperry you need to make paste of onions, garlic, ginger fry it in cooking oil. Add salt and spices and raw coriander or even powdered coriander and cumin seeds. You can also add tomato paste in it. After that add small pieces potatoes in it and water for gravy. Let it cook in a pressure cooker and it will be done soon. I'm not expert but I think this is the way to make them

I am impressed with your cookbook ready to be published! I have bought the morning star farms steak strips for the first time last Saturday but have not tasted them yet; I also bought the veggie chicken strips. I have had the veggie chicken nuggets and patties and loved them! Any other idea o use the steak ones I will see if i can make burritos? Not sure what they are, I will look for a recipe for them.

@andriaperry I'm just about finished eating - steak and potatoes. Very thin steak, I had to be careful I didn't over cook it.
