Being surrounded by a lot of negativity can certainly cause the mind to wear down. There has to be some outlets in order to be positive or more positive. No matter how much one tries to be positive. If they're continuously surrounded by negative individuals then more than likely the person or persons will become negative. Taking some time to just "reflect" on positive events and think about what the future may hold can certainly help release all of the pressures which can be felt when having to deal with a negatives. There will be some who may not know how to be positive. The ones who are under lots of stress may display negative behavior. Not being able to channel emotions can ruin the mind. It's best to find activities in which are enjoyed. There has to be some soothing moments. There certainly is a lot to deal with while being here on earth. There are some who will continue to try and cause stress for others. Have "to find" time to unwind and get the mind off of all the junk so many dish out. To reflect doesn't mean one has to spend hours at a time reflecting. A few minuets a day can help in someway. Not every person will have the time to reflect. No person should be so busy that they're unable to take the time to meditate and gather thoughts. "There are so many ways to incur the peace" needed to stay mentally sane. Too many people end up losing their minds because they're unable to remove the negative thoughts within the mind. Whatever occurs in life, they're not able to put to the side, the negatives continue to live within so many. There has to be ways to channel the negative thinking out and live a positive life.

Thinking positive or going positive is not always as easy as it comes. No matter how you focus on dispelling those negative thoughts and influences that bother you or stress you out, it always takes a lot of effort and time to completely forget the bad things and replace it with good ones. Some try yoga, with the corresponding mantra. Others go for the strenuous and physically-demanding exercises to shake the body out of negativity. Others simply pray. The key is not to erase negative thoughts and avoid negative influences. It is managing negative thoughts and influences. Whatever one may choose and successfully use in managing negative thoughts and influences, it is always one's attitude that spells the difference.

I for one am a person that does not like negativity. Yes, I am negative at times but that is few and far in between. I believe that everyone has negative times in their life. We are only human. I will not be around a person that fills their life with negativity. To me it is a weakness, kind of a sickness. I gave up being friends with three people cause all they could talk about was negative things. Sorry, I am not on the same page as they are. I do think that some people have known nothing but negativity in their lives and so that is the way they are. They can change their ways and find out how good life is with positive things and not negative things. All they have to do is open up and ask themselves if they want to live in a miserable world or a happy world.

Sometimes too, some positivism can show up when least expected from the most unexpected places.

I appreciate your post very much, as I am trying my best to be more positive. But it is just a little hard whenever you hear negative things around. I know living a positive life is better than having negative thoughts. So, whenever I tend to hear negative stories, I make my way to see the positive in it and not fuel negativity with another negativity.

Being with positive people makes everyone more positive. Minimize the time spent with negative people. Change negative thoughts to positive ones . Do things that make one feel better. The sun is still shining after so many disasters and storms. Focus on the Creator of the sun and everything else. He will make sure that things will all be better one day. Works for me!
