Such Big Meals!

The past 2 times my husband and I ate out at restaurants, I have ordered rather cheaper meals, under 10 dollars and the plates that were presented to me, were so big, the meal had to be meant for two. As a result, I ate half of the food and took the rest home in a take home box and ate the rest the next day. The first meal that was so big was a chicken Quesadilla. It was so big and round , it was cut into 4 big pieces and looked like a pizza! The second meal was a Chinese Tofu and rice , that was so big, it looked like two or 3 of those packs you find in the store of those tofu blocks cut into fat cubes! There is no way I or really anybody could eat that much in one meal. It is defiantly meant for 2 or for 2 meals. Does this happen to you?

I love when I am surprised at restaurants by how large the portions are. It's better then it being very tiny and not feeling like you got your money's worth.

@LeaPea2417 It's also nice to have left overs the next day and not have to cook :)

I love it when the meal is big enough to take home half and have another meal out of it later.

I have, and I love it because it makes for an extra meal another day. =) So I have gotten 2 meals for the price of one!

Yes often. I cant eat all that either. I am a waste of money at a buffet cause I eat one plate and that is it.

Well that is good to hear that you can get two meals out of it Anne. No it doesn´t happen to me as I rarely go out these days but even when I did, it was never as big as all that.

Next time you should only order 1 meal deal and split it between the two of you.

That is a good idea, we would save money by doing that.

No - we very seldom leave with leftover food. Maybe Mexican places do it, but we don't eat there. We are big eaters anyway so we never complain about too much food if we ever get it!

Seems like portion sizes in restaurants have gotten very big and I usually wind up taking half of it home too

This happens to me quite often. I can usually only manage one course when we eat out. Sometimes I have an entree in the hope that I'll be able to manage a dessert as well but mostly I can't.

Yes, that's the only reason I don't mind spending $20 on two restaurant meals. There's too much food served, so we eat on it, for two days!:) That means, our meals were each $5, which isn't bad at all!

I enjoy having leftovers from a restaurant meal to take home to eat the next day. Funny, I always hated leftovers as a kid
