Alone but Not Lonely

This is day two of my weekend of being alone. Yesterday flew by and I slept very well. I wasn't really concerned about being in the house alone and just fell into bed like I do every other night. I woke up a little later than usual this morning which was fine since I had nothing to get up early for. After showering, dressing and making my bed I threw on a load of laundry and then came downstairs and put on the coffee. Took the dogs out while the coffee brewed and enjoyed some myLotting while the coffee worked its magic. Back up the stairs to put the laundry in the dryer and decided not to put on another wash since up and down the stairs really bothers my knees. Now it's nearly lunchtime and I still have the whole rest of the day to enjoy. No cooking for me tonight since I made that big meatloaf last night and will have leftovers. I'm halfway through a good book Beneath a Scarlet Sky so I know I'll be curled up later to read. For those who remember my son and daughter in law when to Haiti on a mission trip they came home this morning and just arrived at the airport. They are exhausted and said they will come by one day during the week to tell me all about their wonderful experience. For me, life is good and all is well. What's happening with you today?

We're not doing much today. We were thinking of going to the park this morning, but considering my eldest was sick last night and my husband isn't feeling too good, we just thought it best to wait.

@Marilynda1225 It really would be fun, but like you said, better to wait until we all feel well.

probably best to wait until everyone is feeling better but a day at the park sounds like fun

If I was alone all the time I don't know if I'd like it but two days is nice for me. Do you like when you husband is away and you're alone?

@NJChicaa you always sound like you have a full life so I can imagine that the time you're alone you enjoy it. Now that my daughter is living with me I do enjoy the days she works but it's also nice having her here for dinner every night and I enjoy her company. I used to love to cook but now my knees are so bad it's hard for me to stand for long periods by the stove.

@Marilynda1225 I'm just used to it. I get home from work at 2pm and he's home between 7 and 8pm usually. Then there are the times that he is away for work. I'm just used being here on my own. That's why I started cooking--to fill the time. Now the gym workouts take up some of it as well. I don't love being alone all of the time but luckily I'm independent so I can handle it well enough.

We've had a nice day together so far. Like you, I did some laundry, but we just got home from a drive. We stopped at an apple orchard and bought some apples, peaches, pears and squash.

@Marilynda1225 We did. And my hubby spied a strawberry reubarb cream pie, it had a crumble topping. I've never had a cream pie like this and couldn't finish it as it wasn't very good. He even commented that mine taste much better.

I'm hoping my daughter decides to go apple picking with her friends so we can have some nice apples. You sound like you made a nice haul with your apples, peaches, pears and squash

@Juliaacv there was an orchard near my other house that had delicious strawberry rhubarb pies. I never tried making one of them myself but I'm fairly good at the standard traditional ones. You sound like you like to bake and cook so I'm sure anything you make homemade is better

Glad to hear you have your day planned out. Since I ma now always on my own I make a definite pattern to my days. Usually up by 8 AM I get dressed in comfy home clothes and make breakfast and start working for awhile on my PC. Today doing routine the day slipped by quickly and since it is almost 9 PM I am soon looking forward to watching some movies and just relaxing. Hope you have a good day.

@Marilynda1225 You see what is difficult to understand except for the occassional visit by my husband's daughter I am totally alone. No friends no no body and that is how it will be until I can find a way to get the heck out of this house, make money and back to my homeland the U.S. because that is a reality I can understand so much better and I have close friends there not too far. Until the I still have to face the long dark nights, the holidays that I won't be celebrating and many many other adjustments.

Are you having a hard time adjusting to being by yourself? I know you have Sid to keep you company but I'm sure it's different only having to worry about yourself.

Not alot..annoyed that the person that was supposed to look at the room didn't show up..but other than that..just a typical day, watching football doing laundry etc.

that person probably wouldn't be the right one to rent your room @snowy. It must be frustrating waiting but I know the right person will come

@Marilynda1225 - While I love my husband and enjoy the time we spend together, I also enjoy myself when he has a little business trip. Those are the times when I host a "girl's night" at my house, get some projects done and just relax!

I'm alone tonight while my hubs is attending our younger son's bachelor party in NYC. Just me and Doodles. Glad your son and his wife made it safely home.

Not much happening to me today. Trying to look for other online gigs that I can do to earn more. Trip to the gym later and then after that, not much planned.
