Frustration #1

I have a lot of frustrations, as we all do. This particular frustration is something I don't think anyone has experienced. My doctor thought it was a little weird and sent me to for a CAT scan, with no results. I smell things that aren't really there. I think the first thing I smelled was KFC Chicken. We have a KFC in town but it is way over at the other end of town. I have also smelled brownies, but mostly I smell cigarette smoke. Doors are closed, no one is home. When the door is open and someone is smoking outside it is a very different smell. It is a present, real smell. The cigarette smoke I smell is a faint lingering smell. Someone suggested it was a spirit. I have received visits from some relatives that passed over, but none of them smoked for years before they passed, my father never smoked. Someone else asked what I think of when I smell the smoke and I said my husband because after stopping smoking for 10 years, he started up again in a casual sense. He doesn't spend money on cigarettes but always smokes when he is with people who smoke... which is just about everybody. And it bothers me. I've also smelled alcohol, which could also be related to my husband. As I sit here typing this I can smell cigarette smoke. Yesterday I went shopping with my daughter. We were in a relatively dead mall (because there are a lot of vacancies) and we walked into the Hallmark store and I immediately smelled cigarette smoke. I mentioned it to my daughter. She was very adamant that I did not smell cigarette smoke. My only possible explanation is that one of the employees had stepped out for a smoke break and came back smelling like smoke, though I didn't go anywhere near an employee. I smelled fresh flowers at the dentist office last week though there were none present. What do you think of this craziness? Is it a sign? Or am I just crazy?

I dont think its craziness but is definitely unique! I wonder what the cause is?

I definitely don't think you're crazy but at least you had a CAT scan to rule out any possible medical factors. It does seem weird that you are smelling things that aren't there

Yes, it's a good thing they didn't find anything. However, from what she told me the CAT scan was of my olfactory area (sense of smell) so the whole brain was not really checked.

Interesting... I would be wondering a little bit as well to what all of this relates too. Maybe you should start journaling on things you know and remember, and even ask some questions if you can, and see if you can put a little more meaning to all this.
