And he's wearing a wedding ring

My husband got a wedding ring when we got married 9+ years ago. He ordered it online and just guessed at the size. It was a bit too large and the problem was that it was made of Tungsten which can't be re-sized. He wore it every day for the first several months and then it started to become more sporadic until he finally gave it up altogether. He said that it was uncomfortable to wear because it was too big. He would wear it on special occasions but that was it. All of a sudden he started wearing the same ring again every day a couple of weeks ago. I have no idea why. I'm not questioning it though because if I act like I notice it, he will stop. Who knows?

My husband wore his wedding ring for a few years and then stopped wearing it. He said it was digging into his finger because of the ridges. So for our anniversary I bought what they call a comfort band. I even had blessed by our parish priest before giving it to him. He wore it for awhile and then stopped. Since then an employee at work had an accident AT HOME which consisted of his wedding ring snagging on a ladder rung. Since then workers are not allowed to wear jewelry on the job. But trying to get my husband to wear his wedding ring for a special occasion is something I gave up on after he walked out the door with it on and later admitted he took it off as he was driving away. I honestly don't get it. When I met him he wore non-stop a huge silver ring on his right hand. He still says he loves it... more than his wedding ring obviously. Sometimes I wonder if there is something deeper involved, like his lack of desire to be married. I wear my rings as a proud symbol of our love and commitment and I always check out the ring finger of married men to see if they are wearing their rings. Most do, but a lot don't.

Your husband doesn't seem to be very interested in your marriage from what I've seen in your posts.

@NJChicaa My husband is in a world of his own a lot of the time. There have been moments he has been no longer interested in being married. Then there are moments when he feels he could not live without me. And I have gone through those emotions as well. I strongly believe God brought us together for a reason and has made sure we have stayed together.

At times, men get intimidated, by other, single men who try to include them in their no-good, horseplay. My husband is actually made fun of, for not joining in with some 'manly' things, like wild partying or bar hopping. Jay sports his wedding ring all the time, he's very proud of being a faithful, married man! Your husband is no doubt, the exact same way!

I don't think my husband would be intimidated by or care what others thought of him.

@NJChicaa My husband pretends not to be, but I know that deep down inside, it hurts. They tease him something awful!

My husband wore his ring for a while then stopped because he kept having to take it on and off at work. He put it in a spot at home and it was stolen by a former in-law. Made me furious. It was made of tungsten and I doubt she would get much money for it. I bought him a new one and he hasn't taken it off since.

Yeah Tungsten is cheap. I told my husband to just buy a new one that's the right size.

@NJChicaa they are very durable though. That is why we got tungsten instead of gold.

@ElusiveButterfly My husband likes the look of them and also that they are so lightweight. Everyone I know who has gotten married in the past 10 years has gotten Tungsten instead of gold.

oh we know they do. He just never cared enough to go there to get it. So the ring sat in a drawer for many years. Now all of a sudden it is out and being worn. Very strange.

Maybe his finger has grown bigger. Has he gained weight?

Nope. It fits the same as ever. That is why this is such a mystery.

@NJChicaa You don't see as many men wearing rings as women. Maybe it's a man thing.

One of two things I'm guessing - he gained some weight and the rings fit OR he doesn't feel right not wearing the ring, so he's wearing it again. They do have ring guards he could buy for it that would help it fit better. I think they're plastic or vinyl. They just snap into place.

That is so sweet. My husband hasn't worn his ring since our first anniversary. He is allergic to jewelry and didn't want it made allergy proof. Good thing I trusted him around all those cute co-eds his entire career! lol

I trust my husband too so I've never made a big deal about it.
