Reconnecting with an old flame

It isn't what it sounds like AT ALL! My first "love" was my boyfriend our senior year in high school and through part of our first year in college. He went to the Air Force Academy and has made a career out of working in the Air Force. Our breakup was not good and we lost touch back in college but I've always had a soft spot for him and have been proud of him for his service to the country. Anyway, the school I work at is the same one that we graduated from. They are doing a Wall of Honor for graduates who have served in the military. I felt like I needed to let him know so he could send in a picture to be displayed. I sent him a message through Facebook and, honestly, was 50/50 on whether he would even respond. He did--almost immediately. I gave him the information, got clarification about something for him, and sent that back to him as well. I don't think that we are going to be BFFs any time in the near future but it was interesting to be in contact with someone who used to mean a lot to me. I will be happy to see the Wall of Honor and to see his picture displayed in it.
