Messenger crashing on you?

Earlier today, I have issues on opening my Messenger application on my iPhone. Whenever I try opening it, it closes right away. So I check my Apple store if there is an update because usually, it happens if there is a new update and it's not. It's showing my Messenger is updated.
So I posted a status updated on Facebook about my Messenger crashing on me. And looks like I am not alone. All Apple users are having an issue with Messenger crashing after updated the iOs 11. I searched for answers based on the comments, where I read that I need to uninstall the Messenger and install it back, then power off my phone.
And so I did. Now it's working pretty fast.
If you happened to have the same issue just do the above information.

My friend sent me a message on viber this morning. When I tried to find out about it, it's not an iOS related thing. Facebook messenger had a problem with those using the app and not only iOS users. I updated my iOS to 11 last Thursday and I didn't encounter such problem with messenger today.

@JustBhem Yeah that's what my friend said too so I made some readings online and it wasn't just iOS 11. There wee others who wee infected by some kind of messenger virus from midnight last night. Early this morning, I got a message from my MIL from New Jersey telling me her messenger has been crashing, I asked her if she has updated to iOS 11 and she said no. So she updated and it fixed her messenger.

Android users don't have an issue with their Messenger only iPhones.
When two friends from the US updated from iOs 11 and uninstall their Messenger it's working.
I updated mine yesterday, and it was not working this morning.
Same thing happened with a friend who is in Japan. Her Messenger was crashing too, what she did. She updated from iOs 11 then her Messenger is working.

I don't have a problem, but I did hear some people on my friend list had to uninstall and install. I did not update my iOs.

I am having a hard time how to fix it yesterday. I thought there is something with my phone.
And when I check Facebook, news feeds flood with Messenger issue.
And I seek a solution from the comment, there I found out how to fix it and share it here.

I had the same issue, I uninstalled and re installed it works just find now, When something is not working like that just take it off, put it on again. Not sure why it happened, all my updates are current.

I'm required almost 2GB to install iOS 11, it's time to buy an external memory card perhaps.

@JustBhem That's why I hate updates, the storage and RAM of my phone will soon not be enough, and I'll be forced to buy a new phone.
