My snoring kept my wife awake all night.

It's been 10 days since my CPAP machine stopped working. It's been 10 days of snoring. Contacted a RN at the OPC but still no answers after 10 days of contact. Negative results. The main thing I learned was, that 1 pillow instead of 2 pillows helps me not snore as bad. My wife told me she had got only 2 hours sleep last night from my snoring. I can't sleep without snoring and the nasal CPAP machine went dead on me 14 days ago. I contacted my medical people but they are slow as molasses in winter during an ice age in Antarctica.

Hope this gets resolved soon. In the meantime, it is better if you'll sleep separately. Also, you might try to sleep on your side and elevate your pillows to see if it lessens your snoring.

@allen0187 , Actually from my experiments these last 2 days, I find that I only needed one good Down Pillow to sleep on and my snoring has been less frequent. I still sleep in the same bed with my wife. I can't see sleeping in a separate bed so I have not slept on a couch.

So you think 2 pillows would be better instead of just one? Hmm. It might make a difference. Sleeping on my side might also be a good idea. Thank you so much for giving this advice. I will take try this ASAP.

Try to consult your doctor as early as possible, even if they are not replying faster just look for them.

Unfortunately my old doctor moved to work in California. I have not seen my new doctor who will take his place and my appointment is not until December. Since all I have is the clinic number I can't do anything about it.

@Kosgey , Maybe. But usually it is required that I get a doctor's actual prescription or request for the machine in order to get one.

Can't one of you move to a different room and sleep on a sofa until the problem is solved?

I will be the one to sleep on the living room sofa. She can't have me snoring her all night. It's a crying shame. If only I could lose some pounds. I really need to so my snoring might ease up a bit.

My better half uses a c pap. His hasn't gone out yet. They send him three nose covers about every three months. I clean and put them back in the case in case they skip an order. His red light comes on during the night but they told him that was okay. I hope it is.

Good thing it is working properly. I will have to give my other doctor a call and tell the doctor how important it is that for me to maintain good health both mentally and physically, I must get a new CPAP machine ASAP!

@RubyHawk , Actually I have lost a little weight, so my efforts to sleep with only one good down pillow instead of two foam pillows and getting off soda pop and extra sweet things, some exceptions of course, like that chocolate cake I will be having on Oct 1st. I know I need to get out and paint the house so that will be good exercise as well.

@lookatdesktop Yes, give him a good talking to. Sometime that's what it takes. Don't let your health suffer.

What's the reason why they cannot give you another CPAP machine.

Not really sure, what the hold up is. The hospital is county and they are darn slow getting things done for any person even a person waiting to see if they have cancer and don't get results back for weeks on end. Typical situation. I might have to fork out money and buy one on Amazon if I have to. My records there might be hard to locate if they don't keep track since I was prescribed the machine over 20 years ago when first diagnosed with Obstructive and Central Sleep Apnea back in the mid 90's.

Have you ever tried a special ring for the little finger, available at Pharmacies. It presses onto a certain part at the base of the finger and make the snorer stop snoring,

No, I never heard of it. How would it work? Sounds like an unusual thing to do.

@lookatdesktop I believe it has something similar to acupuncture. I read this years ago when it was first sold to the public. There seems to be a point at the base of the little finger which associates with the snoring. A pressure on that point, makes the snoring stops. (We never bought. My husband's snoring only gets bad whenever he is not well or if he is under stress.)

@YrNemo , Interesting. My mother bought a book about acupressure and she suggested I read it. She told me that pressure on certain parts of the body connect to parts of the mind and certain organs. It is historical in nature. Many people use the acupressure techniques and also acupuncture.
