We figured it out

Princess in a lawn chair.

Either we figured out why Princess has been reluctant to go out, or she "told" us. The last time or two she went outside voluntarily, we have not been able to find her and get her in. She spent a couple of days outdoors. Without us. We are both home today, and Bob was working outdoors. I was in and out doors. Princess went out. She inspected the lawn mower repair and the plant watering. She found various places to be outside. We came inside, so did she. She gets lonely outside without us. I am sure it was good for her to get some fresh air.

Our old lady won't come inside but to grab a bite to eat and heads right back out again. She enjoys being outdoors. She will freak if you don't open the door for her once she has finished eating. The younger cat tries to get out and because we fear she will wander too far, we keep her inside. We do leave a window open for her to be able to get some fresh air.

I think this is a left over fear from being lost for four days just before we moved.

@GardenGerty poor little bugger. Mine has been more an outdoor cat since she was a kitten. I had hoped to have her be an indoor cat, but my exidiot let her outside.

Princess is adorable. My Sid is Mr. Independence. He goes out and stays out as much as he wants whether I am out or in and when he is in and I wish to check on him he gives me the most defiant looks like what do I want from him.

When we are at home she was that way in the past. Two years ago she had an accident and got lost and was out for four days, so I feel that perhaps when she has been locked out recently with us gone it has bothered her.

I think she does not like to be home alone.

Princess is beautiful, cats sometimes need their "lonely" moments.

Aww, she needs a kitty friend, I think Spooky has kitty friends, or he is just into watching all the rabbits

She seriously dislikes it when other kitties come visit. Bob thinks maybe some of the wildlife that visits, like the armadillo, have scared her.

If the weather is above freezing and we are at home, yes, she goes out as she pleases. There is always something to smell of and look at and explore.

@Hannihar I depends on the day. If someone is home and the weather is nice she may stay out all day and enjoy the sunshine.

These days I really prefer to keep my pets inside, no fleas or ticks in here.

When I had cats they went outside with us and came back in with us.

My cat is not allowed outdoors anymore. Too many cars come speeding around the corner here and I don't want my Lister becoming roadkill.

Cats are very loyal to their humans; they always wanted to be in their company.

Where can she hide when she sleeps outside?

Is she black all over? My neighbor at the back has his chubby cat like that, just black (with a silky red ribbon as a collar).
