Memory Sweet one: Lisa was playing
witg her brother Robbie,"mommy Lisa
wants Jelly Belly beans, M omm y?"
She inew I was going to the store so
she put her bid in. Imediatley Rpbbie
pipped up"No no Lisas its jelly beans
not jelly belly beans."
Oh dear she puckered up and began to
cryThen she looked at him.""Lisa saw
package it said Jellybelly beans."
She was five, Robbie was six.
NOw they tolsus Lisa rose was
brain damaged then how
ih heavens name did she
read JellyBellyjelly beans? There
were places where she
showed she was a little
backward but she had
no schooling yet but she saw
a package and'read'the name
unless someone told her
what theu were.
Needless to say we did get
a package ofthat brand of
JellyBelly beans. Both kids
loved them and I was very
strilct on how much sweets
they ate.
My hubby and I both wondered
if she was not brain'd damaged
but autistic.We found out later
after her death at age eight
that a lot of kids once labeled
brain damage were instead'
sutistic with actually higher
than normal IQQ.
This memory is really a
happy one with our sweet little
lovebug Lisa Rose. Even her
brother adored her as she'
loved
everyone and trusted every o ne.
Sadly my mopm and younger
silster Mary p;referred R obbie
ver Lisa and showed it. But then
My sister was of very
low IQ I f orget the term ,
but my mom really thought ouir'
Li sa was the same wa y but the
doctors did say she was a
puzzle as she showed signs
of brain damaged but s he on
tjhe'other' hand showed at tmes
a higher degree of
intelligence.
It was hard losiong her very
hard but ti me helped She would
n obe 57 a year y ounger than
R obbie had she l i ved.

Nice to have these happy memories. I wonder if she was autistic.
