I was looking at some kitchen stuff in a shop and now know I can buy a Carrot Sharpener. I have clearly missed something here. Can someone tell me on what conceivable occasion I am ever going to need to sharpen a carrot? Actually I was so confused as to how I was missing out I looked on Youtube. I am still not sure I will spend my Mylot earnings on one.I need a thing that cubes my boiled eggs.
Use this new kitchen gadget to peel any vegetables and turn through the giant pencil sharpener Make dipping size rosettes out of carrots, parsnips, purple sw...

The only thing I can think of is that you'd have carrot shavings. Whatever floats your boat, I suppose! Good luck with yer cubed eggs

@LilyBeBack I have been saying for years that a left-handed screwdriver is necessary and everybody bursts out laughing when I do but I really think that we do need them if we are left-handed. I use my left hand for a lot of things but my son is extremely left handed and does his amazing art with his left hand. Strangely enough he wants a left-handed screwdriver less than I do

I don't have this gadget but it seems it works well. I hope it really does. I am interested in buying useful kitchen gadgets because they will be so helpful for us. I wish there could be a corn peelers which work very well. That's something I like the most.

@LadyDuck telling my mum about it was quite funny because she's 85 and doesn't always get it but she was in fits and stitches. Mum does like her kitchen gadgets so it would be quite a funny thing to give her

I have spent serious time considering this and I really can't think of a reason to sharpen a carrot.

@Jackalyn I can't either unless you intend to use it as a weapon.

Interesting. Looks like a Big pencil sharpener to me, and why would you need or want a carrot sharpener?

Is what we are all wondering. You would have to have the right size carrot for the sharpener or it wouldn't work if it was to peel it so apparently it's got to be some sort of food design Thing. Seems there's something called food art so maybe it's for that?

Don't know what the sharpened carrot is used for.I think the kitchen gadget certainly makes light work of cooking.

Maybe the carrot will help keep the plaque from your teeth? (Thinking on the line on certain dog treats.)

I can see absolutely no reason why a sharpener for a carrot would do anything to the plaque on your teeth

@Jackalyn If the carrot is sharp enough, maybe it could wear away some of the plaque.

I would love a thing that cubes my boiled eggs. Less so a carrot sharpener, although I can see the advantages of owning one.

Yet there they were as Bold as brass in the shop. Sometimes I think people just think things up just to see if they will sell to idiots.
