Do you read others comments before responding?

It is but natural for many of us to read other members' comments when we want to respond to a discussion. But , just wondering whether other members' opinion influences your own response or do you respond first and then read what others have written or it could be that some members don't read what other members have to say about the subject .. I normally respond first to a discussion and then go through other comments.

You mean responses or comments? I read comments...and then comment back..I read the post and reply...I agree that sometimes when I read others responses and comments before putting in my two cents worth, it does influence my comment or response. But usually, I read others responses when there is something I need to be clear about, or when I think it would be interesting to know how others are reacting to this.

You read the responses first and then respond? Does it influence your views...I think some views are formed based on our environment and situations in life that we may even come out more strongly against others views I suppose. So influence can be at both ends of the spectrum..lol

I tend to do exactly the same, respond first and read other comments afterwards.

@kiran8 Reading the responses first may cause me to change my response, whereas reading them after still allows me the option to comment on them.

I do both ways . . . sometimes I will read the responses/comments first . . . other times I read them after my response. As soon as I read a post, I pretty much have my thoughts locked in, so in most cases I am not influenced by what others say.

I respond first and then I check the comments left by the others. If there are interesting comments I can leave a response under the comment.

@kiran8 This is also my opinion, if you read before you are influenced and then you do not write your real sentiment.

I guess we tend to that because you already have a response ready in your mind and you want to spill it out before it vanishes ...just joking

What comments? I am not answering if they are not interesting. And in a discussion, unless I have to , there is no reason because now every response is different box.

Absolutely , that what carries forward a discussion, if Everyone agreed with everyone else it would be quite boring. We need to have personal views ..
