The Essence of Halloween

This celebration is fast approaching and I know vast numbers of countries do partake in it but we don't understand it in African because we don't celebrate it .I will really want to know the real essence and can it be skipped for a year or two or it must be a done celebration?

Halloween can be skipped by anyone that does not want to celebrate it.

we don't celebrate halloween but in social media I saw my friends celebrate it. Good to know more about it
