In fact it is easy to have your own indoor plant and you don't have to look after it so much. I learned this online. Just have a small taro and dip it into the water. It will sprout after a few days. After that, it will have more leaves and this indoor plant shall grow. It also works for sweet potato and you just need to cut a part of it and it shall grow in the water by itself. I am not sure whether it can work for potato.

Potato plants become big I see no reason to grow one inside, but lentils make nice little plants.

@youless I have planted potatoes in my garden, they are about 50 cm high when the potatoes develop underground.

It is fun to root these this way and then plant them in the spring.

If you plant it in the mud, I think it will grow so big

@celticeagle Of course the mud is good for the plants, but water seems to be cleaner for indoor plants.

Are you sure? I have indoor plants and there is no such a problem. Perhaps I grow it with water rather than mud.
