A Shadow...

Yesterday was like a shadow day. I felt like I was a part of life but not a part of life. Everything seemed faded at the edges. Have you ever experienced that feeling?
I had only had 2 and a half hours sleep the night before and the headache wasn't leaving me in peace. I know I went to buy pizza (we didn't have electricity) so that was the simplest for a meal and I love pizza, but anyway, I know I took Daisy for her walk, but then I was in and out of naps and I hate sleeping in the day, but I couldn't keep my head up.
So the whole day feels like an odd dream to me. It is like Sunday didn't really exist for me. A shadow. Today (Monday) is a holiday because Heritage Day fell on a Sunday, so that is a bonus for many. Tons of jokes of Monday being cancelled doing the rounds here in S.A. today.
How was your weekend every one? I wish you all a good Monday and week ahead

Oh too bad the headache wont leave you. But i guess you are okay now. Do you need to be checked? I mean do you know the cause why you have headache for the whole day?

With the holiday, that gives you an extra day to try and catch up on your sleep! I hope you are able to get rested up!
Tell me more about Heritage Day. What's the holiday all about? I know so little about SA! You can be more personal tutor.

Yeah, I finally caught up a little, thanks. Wanted to say...I like your new pic, "Elmer Fudd" would be jealous of that mustache, @moffittjc
Heritage Day is a day where we celebrate the different cultures, beliefs and languages in our country.
It is also known as National "Braai" Day. A Braai is a barbecue, and just about everyone braais on Heritage day, I just bought pizza because I was feeling blah. It is a favourite way to spend most spring and summer weekends.
We braai at pool parties, we braai during Rugby and Cricket matches, braais are even allowed at Cricket matches. A Braai is a great way to celebrate a birthday too! It is something just about everyone does, they reason, a common ground. So, Heritage Day and Braai Day is about celebrating differences and finding unity.
Was I a good personal tutor?

@bluesa You are a great tutor! Thanks for the explanation. Now, only one more question...how do you pronounce braai?

With so little sleep it is no wonder you felt out of it, I hope you feel better today. I had 5 hours sleep last night, I feel better than in a while.

Probably the lack of sleep was the cause of the weird day for you. Hope you rest much better tonight.

If I've been sick or whatever, or have been tired I have had similar days. Was it a migraine?

@MarymargII thank you, I will see if I can find magnesium in powder form here too and give it a try. I will let you know as soon as I have tried it. :)

@bluesa May I suggest some magnesium- apparently a lack of it will contribute to headaches. I use the powder form and mix it into a drink. Sorry you get those days and you are doing well to take care of it that way! Let me know if you take magnesium and if it helps :)

When we don't get a good night's sleep it's hard to function the next day. I hope your headache has gone.
The weekend here was really good, very warm weather. We had the warmest Sept 25th in over 100 years.

Yeah sometimes I feel that way especially when we are not inspired or just missing something or someone.
