Losing money on the internet

Well, 2 weeks ago, I was planning a trip to Bangkok and I booked and paid for my hotel believing that I would get my visa on time. This is not the first time I'm making that trip. The person that was supposed to pick the visa failed me and she did not do so on time. Poor me I could only get the visa 3 days later since it was the weekend.
Checking to change my hotel accommodation, it was non-changeable and non-refundable. I lost my money like that. We need to be very careful with the internet although it is one of the best things that I can boast having access to today.

We lost money online when we wanted to change our return ticket from Cyprus back to Washington DC, the Turkish airline told us it was non refundable and that we weren't allowed to pay a minimal fee of change in ticket. We ended up buying another return ticket which was VERY expensive.

I am so sorry to hear that. This is why it is risky to book a plane and hotel early. But I can understand it. The price will be better if you can arrange all of these earlier. Sometimes I am also worried whether my trip can go without problems since I booked everything earlier.
