Losing money on the internet

Well, 2 weeks ago, I was planning a trip to Bangkok and I booked and paid for my hotel believing that I would get my visa on time. This is not the first time I'm making that trip. The person that was supposed to pick the visa failed me and she did not do so on time. Poor me I could only get the visa 3 days later since it was the weekend. Checking to change my hotel accommodation, it was non-changeable and non-refundable. I lost my money like that. We need to be very careful with the internet although it is one of the best things that I can boast having access to today.

We lost money online when we wanted to change our return ticket from Cyprus back to Washington DC, the Turkish airline told us it was non refundable and that we weren't allowed to pay a minimal fee of change in ticket. We ended up buying another return ticket which was VERY expensive.

So sorry. I'm in the travel industry and I know how this feels. It is always advisable to check on the rules before making payments. It helps.

@aureliah Yes you are right. Something came up and we had to extend our stay, so we thought we could just pay a little fee and have the date changed. Will NEVER take that airline again.

@Lizirazo Imagine it is not about the airline. It is about you checking on the rules of your reservation before making payment so that you know what to expect.

I am so sorry to hear that. This is why it is risky to book a plane and hotel early. But I can understand it. The price will be better if you can arrange all of these earlier. Sometimes I am also worried whether my trip can go without problems since I booked everything earlier.

Oh sorry to hear that. If we don't make a advance booking, there may be less felicities. And last time booking is also risky

@shshiju Flights and hotel bookings are very sensitive. I have learnt with time.

It's best to have the Visa in hand before booking anything that is non-refundable.

@aureliah Yes, but more important that you have your Visa before you book anything.

For anything non-refundable and non-changeable, you need to be sure about your dates and timings.
