Forgotten project.

Usually, I sand and re-stain my outside table and chairs at the beginning of summer, in June. Of course, I draw the project out a bit, just for the fun of it. This Summer I totally forgot to do my table and chairs, so I'm doing it now, before the rains come. Of course, my child laborer is helping me. Here's a picture of one of the chairs, with before, during (sanded) and after showing. I'm using Watco Walnut Danish oil as my "stain" this time around. Did you not do anything you usually do this Summer? I also never made it to Montana. Sigh.

Oh yes, I had a million things I wanted to do but did not. That is a nice color of stain.

I think I used it last Summer too. Should look good when I get it done. Of course I'll draw it out.

I love the stain and style of your chairs. I believe I did more than I had planned on doing this summer, but no complaints.

Yeppers, I prefer being too active to not being active enough.

That sucks. Does it rain there often in the Summer?

Usually I plant a couple of veggies in pots but this year passed without me doing it. Oh well, there is always next year.

What are your usual veggies? I saw a green bean (yes, one) at the preschool today!

@TheHorse I usually have a couple of tomatoes, a yellow squash, and a cucumber. Veggies are always better right off the vine.

I never once set up the tent in the yard. Of course, it was horribly hot most of the summer and there was no way we were using the firepit, and they would have wanted to toast marshmallows if I put the tent up. We didn't camp anywhere else either, and didn't go to Yosemite.

Hope you do all of the above next Summer. I hope I make it to Montana too.

@TheHorse Last summer we did the 10 States and Back in 10 Days road trip, so maybe that's why we had a quiet summer.

I never made it to the local zoo. Le sigh.

When summer hits, the kids and I are usually on the go go go all day, every day. But this year we did less activities outside the home and kicked it more often at home (that's the way they wanted it . . . I guess they are growing up!). So less was more during the summer .

You didn't make it to Montana and raise your dental floss?? I had a lot of things undone this summer, mainly because I had a surprise two-month layoff from work.

Yeh, I didn't go outside! Also, usually I take at least a short trip, didn't do that. I guess that was part of not going outside. I like that stain, Horse.

Glad you like the stain! What do you mean, you didn't go outside? You're not in prison, are you? (confused emoji)

I did not apply the usual oil to the wooden furniture, but we used the table and chairs so little that they can wait the next year.

@TheHorse It has been a weird summer, plenty of rain and the few hot days it was too hot to enjoy staying outside. The furniture has not been used a lot.

Interesting that we both slacked off on the same project! I have to get back to this one.

We're just coming into summer now we're back in Australia and I'm about to make a list of things we need to do. We still have a few weeks where we're allowed to burn so we'll be raking and burning leaves and trying to make the house area safer if there should be a bush fire.

That's a great stain color. I didn't garden this summer like I wanted. Oh well there is always next year.

We had such a weird summer that I hardly did any of the normal things I do, I am just moving onto to fall and hopefully next year I will catch up.
