myLot: Do your discussions have the number of responses you expect?

September 25, 2017 5:07pm CST
I think when you post some discussion here is because you want your thinking to be read by the members, and somehow commented on (although this is not a priority for everyone)... Am I right? But do you have any expectations as to the number of responses your discussions should have or just let things flow without thinking about it?

Some of my discussions don't get hardly any traffic or views. It's no big deal, because every comment counts and they soon add up. I just let things flow, without thinking very much about it!

I'll wait till I get 10 responses before I start another discussion since I can earn just as much without starting a discussion. So, if I can get 10 responses than I'm happy. I also like to have a bit of a dialogue on a discussion.

Doesn't it depend on the post's topic as to when it is a good time to post another? It does for me.

@Bluedoll "But do you have any expectations as to the number of responses your discussions should have or just let things flow without thinking about it?" I personally like to get 10 responses before I post another discussion. If it takes a while then it gives me more time to focus on what others have posted as discussions. This is just one way of doing things and not the only way.

@1hopefulman When I asked that question I was thinking specifically of an ask for help post. "How do i get the bottom of the tooth paste out" You can expect ten responses but why wait to post another post if the first comment gives you the answer. " rule up the rim".

Not always. Yet, some times I get a lot more responses than expected and other times I get only a few.

I am a member since quite 8 years, and I have an approximative idea of the number of responses I will get, depending of the discussion. I started a technical discussion today. For these discussions I expect between 0 and 1. I got 4, it is a success. For a discussion about myLot like the one you are starting now, I consider that less than 20 responses is a failure, and I avoid to start one as I am lazy an I do not like to have to comment to too many responders. Courage !

No, I am happy if only few would read and comment or participate in my discussion. I don't expect too much.

Most of my discussions are about me or what I`m confused of and wanted to have interactions with mylotters. That`s why I can`t expect on how many will responds to it but I had to admit that it really makes me feel great receiving a lot of responds from mylotters and very thankful for them appreciating it

I expect at least one response, which I usually get. Any more than that is gravy.

It's very random. I find that people like to talk about MyLot issues and those are the discussions that generate a lot of replies. I started one this morning that has done very well but some of them hardly make more than a few replies.

I don't have high expectations honestly. If people comment and like it, that makes me happy. But I don't really get disappointed anymore if no one is interested. They can't all be big hits. Except for discussions about myLot lol.

When I post a discussion I don't have an exact number of comments I expect to get. I hope though that I end up with a lot of comments. And that is especially true when a discussion of mine asks a question that I want an answer to or asks people for their opinion on something. I wouldn't want those types of discussions to hardly get any comments.

I know that everybody will not like what I put on here. I just let them respond on it if they want to.

@TheInvisibleMan I just post a discussion and wait to see how many responses it attracts. Some of my posts have received more than 20 responses whereas some others ended up attracting onlyou 2 or 3.

I don't say that I must get so many responses. I just take what I get. Sometimes I get one while other times I get more than one. But I have never got ten so far.

No, never! As in, I don't expect anything. I make posts to contribute to the site, that's all.

Initially I set a target on number of responses I hope to get but most it fall below expectations. Recently I create discussions without target and most times I get reasonable number of responses but what ever the number of response(s) I get, I am always encourage
